Have you planned a trip to Jeju Island during the Chuseok holiday? It's exciting yet overwhelming to decide where to go and what to eat. Let me introduce you to a must-visit restaurant that guarantees a delicious meal!
Byeoldonbyeol, known for its Jeju black pork, is a place everyone, regardless of age, will love. The taste of the meat is exceptional, and the atmosphere is on another level. I truly fell in love with this place!
1. Byeoldonbyeol in Jungmun
Byeoldonbyeol is conveniently located near famous hotels in Seogwipo Jungmun, such as Grand Chosun, Shilla Hotel, and Lotte Hotel, making it an ideal choice for dinner. It’s also close to attractions like Jusangjeolli Cliff, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Yeomiji Botanical Garden, and Jungmun Saekdal Beach, perfect for lunch during your travels.
Our family spent the day exploring tourist spots and headed to Byeoldonbyeol for a hearty dinner. We made sure to have a light lunch because we were all looking forward to this dinner!
Parking is available in a dedicated lot at the front and back of the restaurant, and they even have charging stations for electric cars, so you can charge while you dine.

2. Restaurant Interior
The interior of the restaurant exceeded my expectations with its stylish and spacious design. The overall ambiance was sophisticated, but what stood out the most was the breathtaking view outside the window.
The tangerine orchards and palm tree gardens looked like a scene out of a fairy tale, creating a delightful atmosphere that excited the whole family.
While waiting, my child ran straight into the garden to enjoy a walk. Byeoldonbyeol even prepared a stamp tour, which kept us entertained while we waited.
3. Menu Order
We quickly ordered through a tablet! We tried the signature Jungmun black pork Hanra platter for four, along with kimchi stew, cold noodles, and four glasses of green tangerine ade.
For those with kids, they provide a free kids' meal, which is quite sufficient, so you might not need to order anything extra. It includes sesame rice balls, seaweed soup, chicken nuggets, seaweed, and stir-fried pumpkin!
Also, if you're celebrating a birthday, Byeoldonbyeol offers a complimentary birthday meal, which is beautifully presented and heartfelt.
4. High-Quality Meat
The main attraction, the Jungmun black pork, arrived on our table, and it was visually stunning. The vibrant color and marbling between the lean meat were enough to impress everyone in the family.
Moreover, the side dishes served alongside the meat were delicious and complemented the rich flavor of the Jeju black pork. The unique and diverse combinations of side dishes provided a delightful dining experience.
Especially the grilled tortilla with seaweed salad and spicy mayo sauce was a revelation! It was a flavor I had never tasted before, and it was a brilliant idea.
5. Side Dishes to End the Meal
While the quality of the meat was impressive, the side dishes we ordered were equally remarkable. The thickly sliced black pork stew with well-cooked kimchi was refreshing and satisfying.
The cold noodles, with their tangy broth and chewy noodles, were a perfect palate cleanser. I wrapped a piece of the reserved meat in the noodles to finish off the meal.
If you plan to visit Byeoldonbyeol during the Chuseok holiday, be aware that peak times may lead to longer wait times. I recommend arriving a bit early, around 5 to 6 PM, to avoid the rush and enjoy a leisurely dinner while exploring the garden afterwards.
