I traveled to Wolmido to enjoy sashimi and made a reservation at Bokildo Sashimi Restaurant, which I had researched beforehand.
I was pleased to find out that making a reservation for the sashimi special or course meal comes with a discount of 10,000 won.
It was just a 30-second walk from the theme park, so it was effortless to get there.
The side dishes were plentiful, with over 20 varieties, all prepared with care by the owner, which made each dish feel special.
The large sign of Bokildo Sashimi Restaurant was visible from the alleyway, making it easy to find.
I discovered that the National Incheon Maritime Museum was right in front of the restaurant, making it a perfect spot to visit before or after the meal.
The dishes were served quickly, and the beautifully arranged presentation was impressive, filling the table to the brim.
I wondered if my companion and I could finish everything as we sat down.
I took a photo of the side dishes, which were incredibly diverse, with no overlapping ingredients or cooking methods, making it fun to try each one.
Thick slices of flounder and sea bream were served side by side, allowing us to enjoy the texture differences.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive not one, but two steamed crabs, generously filled with meat.
The savory soy sauce marinated crab was also served in a large portion.
It was so delicious that I couldn't resist ordering extra rice.
The grilled scallops were warm and had a subtle smoky flavor, making them tasty even on their own.
Beautiful red scallops were served separately, each with a plump adductor muscle, perfect for a single bite.
The whole grilled rockfish was beautifully plated.
The skin was crispy, and the seasoning was mild, allowing for a clean taste.
Sushi topped with fresh sashimi was also included, which was easy to eat without any overwhelming flavors.
The thickly sliced surf clams looked impressive, and I felt treated just by their appearance.
Fresh sea cucumbers were served raw, allowing us to focus on their natural crunchy texture.
The sea squirt had a strong ocean aroma, and its unique flavor was delightful.
The live octopus was served dressed in sesame oil, complementing its chewiness perfectly.
Thinly sliced abalone was stacked on its shell, providing a fun texture that became chewier with each bite.
The plump meat of the razor clam was a delicacy, with the taste of the sea coming through without any seasoning.
The spiky sea urchin was also served generously, making it hard to resist.
Seasonal shrimp were plump, and they were tender enough to eat with the shell.
I also tried the clam noodle soup, which had a mild flavor, making it perfect as a palate cleanser.
The meal concluded with a spicy fish soup, rich with ingredients and finished off with noodles for a hearty end.
I wholeheartedly recommend Bokildo Sashimi Restaurant in Wolmido for its generous offerings from side dishes to soup.
