In Daegaya-eup, Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, a special autumn night festival was held.
The event took place at the Daegaya Historical Theme Park, Daegaya Museum, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jisandong Tombs.
It was a unique opportunity to enjoy Goryeong's historical and cultural heritage amidst beautiful lights.
On the cool autumn nights of September, families could explore historical sites, enjoy performances, experiences, exhibitions, and delicious food, making it a great family travel destination in Goryeong.
During the festival, the Daegaya Museum, Daegaya Shrine, and the night views of Jisandong Tombs were open until 10 PM, allowing visitors to experience Goryeong's history and culture in a completely different atmosphere.
From September 4 (Friday) to September 6 (Sunday) in 2026, the "Goryeong National Heritage Night Walk" illuminated the nights of Daegaya.
The event was held with safety as the top priority, utilizing spacious parking areas at the Daegaya Historical Theme Park and nearby facilities.
The event booths and experience areas were well organized, and a moonlight stamp tour was conducted, where visitors received postcards and enjoyed the festival while collecting stamps.
Stamp collection points included various experience booths, the Daegaya Museum lobby, and the royal tomb exhibition hall lobby.
Completing all five stamps created a picture of the sunrise over the Jisandong Tombs.
Participants received refrigerator magnets as souvenirs, making for a delightful keepsake.
Among the recommended programs was the moonlit walk through the Jisandong Tombs.
With an admission fee of 10,000 KRW per person, participants were given lanterns and gifts.
The Jisandong Tombs are beautiful during the day, but at night, they offer a completely different atmosphere with soft lighting.
Walking slowly along the illuminated paths while learning about Goryeong's history became a special journey in itself.
Children experienced living history, while adults reflected on the glorious past of Goryeong.
The Jisandong Tombs, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in September 2023, are representative tombs from the Gaya period.
The circular tombs are a magnificent sight from afar, especially where multiple burial attendants were interred, indicating the strong authority of the Goryeong ruling class.
Visitors could stroll along well-maintained paths, with guides ensuring safety during the event.
A special nighttime experience was also set up in front of the royal tomb exhibition hall.
While people often look at the moon at night, there are few opportunities to observe it closely through a telescope. After touring the royal tombs and the tombs, observing the moon in the night sky felt like a unique program combining history, nature, and science.
The Goryeong night market added more excitement, with booths selling balloons and various items for families and children.
A consumption receipt verification event was held, where participants could receive sweet strawberry jam from Goryeong as a souvenir for presenting receipts of 15,000 KRW or more from local restaurants.
On the first day of the event, a special program titled "Daegaya Moonlight Dialogue" was conducted with a popular history instructor.
This interactive outdoor talk concert made learning about Goryeong's history enjoyable and engaging.
Following the history talk concert, the atmosphere heated up with a fire goblin performance, captivating the audience under the dark night sky.
The dazzling fire show captured everyone's attention, making the autumn night in Goryeong even more vibrant.
"The Candle in Goryeong" featured thousands of candles illuminating the night, creating an emotional ambiance.
The warm candlelight transformed the autumn nights of Goryeong beautifully.
The next day, diverse activities like the Urukji Daegaya Falling Flower Play were held for the first time in Goryeong.
For three days, the UNESCO World Heritage Jisandong Tombs and Goryeong's cultural heritage were illuminated.
The 2026 Goryeong National Heritage Night Walk, themed "Daegaya: A Beautiful Night," will remain a memorable autumn night journey for many.
