As the sweltering heat of summer starts to fade, I found a perfect spot to refresh both body and mind in nature. Today, I want to share my experience at the hidden treasure of Wanju, the 'Manggari Yellow Clay Path.'
This walking trail, nestled in a lush forest, allows visitors to enjoy the healing properties of yellow clay while promoting wellness. Recently, it has attracted many visitors. While some people walk barefoot on hills or trails, I was always hesitant due to the hard rocky surfaces.
However, this path is made of soft yellow clay, with foot-washing facilities and shoe racks conveniently placed, making it easy to walk barefoot without discomfort.

I parked at the Wanju County Office's visitor parking lot. There’s a forest path that leads behind the Wanju County Office and Wanju County Council!
The foot-washing station is easy to find as it’s located at the entrance. There are multiple entrances to the path, allowing other visitors to access it from various points. I entered from the Wanju County Office side and exited towards the soccer field, taking a large loop back to the parking lot.

2) Families looking for ecological experiences with their children.
3) Anyone wanting to escape daily stress!
As my friend and I stepped onto the path, we felt a bit awkward about taking off our shoes. But once we did, the sensation of the soft clay beneath our feet was both unfamiliar and delightful, reminiscent of childhood play.
Having walked on hard roads in sturdy sneakers, the varied textures felt refreshing and new. At the beginning of the path, I could feel small stones providing a natural acupressure effect. Since it had rained the previous day, there were areas that reminded me of a massage, making the experience even more enjoyable. The path is not entirely forested, allowing ample sunlight to shine through, enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings.
As we continued walking, I felt the warmth of improved blood circulation throughout my body, and my mind began to clear of cluttered thoughts.
After our walk, we rinsed off at the foot-washing station and promised each other to return. There are plenty of benches along the way, making it a great spot to relax with snacks. Those in the know had already claimed their spots with bags and refreshments.
When you want to take a break from your hectic life, why not take off your uncomfortable shoes and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Manggari Yellow Clay Path?
