Delicious Seafood Experience in Gimpo

Recently, I visited a popular seafood restaurant in Gimpo, known for its fresh flounder and flatfish sashimi, with a friend who loves raw fish.
The taste of the fresh sashimi was excellent, but I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of side dishes that accompanied our meal.
1. How to Get There and Parking
The location was easy to find using a navigation app, and it’s a popular spot among locals. Among the recent seafood restaurants I’ve visited, this one stood out for its high satisfaction level.
There is a dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant, which made our visit convenient as we planned to call a driver afterward.
The interior was clean and spacious, with a comfortable table arrangement. By 6 PM, the restaurant started to fill up, especially on that Friday evening, as many groups gathered to enjoy drinks.
We ordered a large serving of flounder and flatfish sashimi. When ordering a large set, you can expect over 15 types of side dishes, including spicy soup.
2. A Feast of Dishes
Thanks to the quick service, our table was set up in no time. The amount of side dishes was impressive, and just the visual presentation was enough to make us feel full.
The first dish I tried was the lively live octopus, which was fresh and generous in portion, making it a delightful appetizer.
The sizzling corn butter was also a hit; it was warm and perfect for families with children, as it was mild and easy to eat.
The grilled mushrooms, infused with a fragrant butter aroma, were served hot on a stone plate, maintaining their warmth throughout the meal.
3. Steamed Egg, Seasoned Konjac, Grilled Fish
We arrived with empty stomachs, and the soft steamed egg was a great way to start. Nowadays, many places charge extra for such dishes, but this restaurant included it as a complimentary item.
One of the spicier side dishes was the seasoned konjac, which paired surprisingly well with the sashimi.
The grilled herring was another highlight, with its tender flesh and juicy flavor, making it a dish anyone would enjoy.
4. Shrimp Sushi, Clams
The shrimp sushi was a great way to satisfy our hunger, and the clams had a unique umami flavor that was enjoyable. The freshness of the seafood was a bonus, as it came at no extra cost.
5. Flounder and Flatfish Sashimi
Finally, we reached the main event: the flounder and flatfish sashimi. The presentation was excellent, and the slices were thick enough to provide a good texture.
After tasting the sashimi plain, I enjoyed dipping it in soy sauce and wasabi. The quality of the fish was so good that I found it delicious even without any condiments.
6. Steamed Scallops
One of the magical side dishes that seemed endless was the steamed scallops. It felt like we could indulge in seafood as much as we wanted that day.
7. Shrimp Tempura, Popcorn Dumplings, Pork Cutlet
The shrimp tempura was perfectly cooked, not overly greasy, allowing us to enjoy the shrimp's natural flavor. The size was just right, and they also served popcorn dumplings that kids would love.
After enjoying the pork cutlet, we started to feel full, but then we were surprised by another visually stunning side dish.
8. Sweet Marinated Sashimi, Sea Urchin, Cooked Shrimp
The sweet marinated sashimi and the sea urchin were unique and delicious, while the cooked shrimp were impressively large.
9. Spicy Soup
The spicy soup was included in our order and was served towards the end of our meal. It was hearty and had just the right amount of spice, making it perfect for a final dish.
We ended our meal by mixing rice into the spicy soup, which was a satisfying conclusion. The quality of the side dishes was so good that we ended up drinking more than we initially planned.
This restaurant is a hidden gem that offers generous portions, and I wanted to share this experience.
