I recently visited a renowned dumpling restaurant in Uijeongbu and enjoyed a delicious dumpling hot pot.
Thinking of my mom, who was home alone, I decided to get some takeout as well. Gyeongseong Handmade Dumplings is famous for its clean and refreshing broth and hearty handmade dumplings, ensuring a satisfying meal every time.
After enjoying the light dumpling hot pot at the restaurant, I felt good about bringing home a takeout for my mom. Once we boiled the neatly packaged ingredients at home, it was just like enjoying the restaurant's flavors, making for a heartfelt meal.
My mom was thrilled to have a tasty dumpling hot pot for a change. For those who love dumplings, taking them home like I did is a great option aside from dining in.
Located on the second floor of a marble commercial building, the restaurant is easy to find, especially with a large banner at the entrance. I discovered it while searching for good spots during a trip with friends, and it made a good first impression.
The restaurant has a pleasant and spacious interior, with comfortable seating arrangements. The bright and cheerful decor is distinct from typical restaurant interiors, which I found appealing.
There's also a selection of refreshing drinks available for dessert, including coffee, plum tea, and peach iced tea, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences.
They also sell artisan yakgwa (Korean honey cookies) at reasonable prices. Those who enjoy yakgwa will appreciate its unique softness and sweetness. I bought a pack on my way and finished it at the table.
This restaurant is famous for its dumplings not only because of their taste but also because they make the dumplings fresh daily, which sets them apart. Even on a weekday, there were many customers visiting.
I tried the dumpling hot pot, which is the restaurant's signature dish. The light broth made from boiled vegetables combined with the dumpling juices was incredibly delicious. The dumplings were larger than expected, and even two would fill you up.
We finished with knife-cut noodles! After eating all the dumplings, adding the noodles to the remaining broth was a delightful treat.
When I got home, I prepared to cook the takeout. The vegetables were packed separately, which was nice, and my mom's favorite bean sprouts were included.
The takeout included three kimchi dumplings and three meat dumplings, which initially made me think they were packed in threes. At the restaurant, they usually serve four at a time, so I found it odd.
Upon opening the next container, I discovered there was one more dumpling in each pack. They thoughtfully packed one extra dumpling for each person, which I appreciated.
I started by boiling the broth in a large pot. Fortunately, my mom had a big pot at her place. I neatly arranged the takeout ingredients in the pot and began cooking.
As the dumplings cooked, I added the bean sprouts for the final touch, completing the dumpling hot pot! The delicious aroma filled the house, and my mom was excited. Sharing the hearty dumplings and fresh vegetables while chatting felt like a simple joy.
Although my mom hadn't had much appetite lately, she managed to eat three dumplings and said they were the best she had in a while. Thanks to the gentle broth, she finished every drop, leaving me feeling proud. Seeing her enjoy the meal confirmed that bringing it home was a great decision.
The generous broth provided with the takeout allows for adding extra noodles or vegetables at home, making for an even more satisfying and delicious experience.
