Ulsan's Dong-gu is famous for attractions such as Daewangam Park, Ilsan Beach, and Sudo.

Sudo, with its protective breakwater, showcases a variety of seasonal flowers. In spring, you can see rapeseed flowers and Shasta daisies, while summer brings sunflowers.

Recently, I visited the Sudo flower garden in Ulsan's Dong-gu to enjoy the stunning autumn scenery, with the vibrant red of the reeds and the pampas grass swaying in the breeze.

To reach the Ulsan reed attraction, head to the free parking lot at the Daewangam Park flower garden located at '37-2, Bang-eo-dong, Dong-gu, Ulsan.' If you plan to explore Sudo as well, you can use the public parking at Bang-eo Port.

After a gentle climb from the parking area, you will be greeted by a wide expanse of round reeds. The reeds grow green until summer, turning ruby-red starting in September. In the past, we would pull them out in autumn, dry them, and use them to make brooms for sweeping the yard.

The Sudo flower garden offers a picturesque view of the sea along with the reeds from the hilltop. The sparkling waters of Bang-eo Port create a beautiful seaside landscape.

Below, you can spot the buildings of the Dong-gu apartment complex, creating a striking contrast with the natural scenery. Upon closer inspection, some reeds are changing to a purple hue.

At the base of the reed colony, you'll find a pampas grass area shimmering in the sea breeze. For those who enjoy trekking, the Haepalang Trail, which connects Sudo Beach to Daewangam Park and Ilsan Beach, is a great option.

As you walk along the path, you can admire the elegant, feather-like pampas grass swaying in the wind.

In addition to the typical silver pampas, there are also varieties with red plumes. Compared to my first visit, the pampas garden has expanded, showcasing a more abundant bloom now.

Walking among the red reeds and the gently swaying pampas grass in Ulsan's Sudo, you can feel the approach of autumn. If you head down to the sea, you can also visit the Sudo lighthouse and enjoy the Sudo Art exhibition.
