On Buddha's Birthday,
Are you considering a light outing?
We recommend Heungguksa Temple at Nogosan!
Located at the boundary of Changnyeongcheon,
Heungguksa Temple sits where Nogosan and Bukhansan face each other,
allowing you to enjoy both beautiful mountains at the same time.
Founded by Master Wonhyo during the reign of King Munmu of Silla in 661,
the temple preserves many cultural heritage items and is surrounded by stunning scenery.
The parking lot can accommodate many visitors,
making it easily accessible.
Heungguksa Temple offers a temple stay program.
As you approach the temple, you will see
the gentle ascent leading up to it.
In addition to the temple,
the Goyang City Cultural Lantern Festival will be held.
On May 20th (Wednesday), at 5:30 PM,
the festival will take place at Hwajeong Central Park.

Heungguksa Temple is a treasure trove of cultural heritage,
including the Goyang City Local Cultural Heritage.
During the late Joseon period,
the Manil Association was formed to critique the Japanese-influenced Buddhism and preserve pure teachings.
