Hello!

I recently attended the "Grand Moonlight Healing Journey" held at Susungdae.

In the pristine nature of Susungdae, which is turning into autumn hues, a special healing event took place.

This event was held to commemorate the '2026 Visit Geochang Year'.

The 'Grand Moonlight Healing Journey' featured four programs:

a silent outdoor cinema,

a moonlit walk in Susungdae while listening to stories,

'Outdoor Sunshine Yoga',

and 'Forest Tea Meditation' in the woods of Susungdae.

I participated in the 'Forest Tea Meditation' program, where I could feel the tranquil energy of the Susungdae forest and calm my mind.

Crossing the cool stepping stones at the entrance of Susungdae,

the sound of the valley water and the shade of the trees created a serene atmosphere.

As participants began to gather, the tea ceremony instructor shared profound insights about the art of tea.

Tea ceremony is not just about serving a beverage; it involves nurturing the tea plant, picking the leaves, brewing the tea, and cleaning up, all of which train the body and mind and cultivate virtue.

Following the instructor's guidance, we practiced brewing tea with care.

To brew delicious tea, one must boil fresh water and let it cool to about 20-30 degrees Celsius before using the right amount of water to extract the essence.

As the saying goes, "There may be tea without etiquette, but there cannot be etiquette without tea." Every cup of tea embodies sincerity and respect for others.

Holding a warm teacup, I closed my eyes and immersed myself in deep contemplation while listening to Kim Hye-sook's poem, 'Offering Tea'.

A woman who can brew a cup of tea for her loved one is happy.

As the first sunlight streams in on a clear morning,

the sound of boiling water in the iron kettle and the clinking of tea utensils

is a joy to share with a loved one.

With clean, white hands holding a flower tray,

a woman who can walk towards her beloved is happy.

For a moment, forgetting the hardships of our lives,

she can offer the most secret and subtle fragrance and say she is happy.

After completing the tea meditation program while embracing the beautiful nature of Susungdae,

participants took a stroll by the clear valley waters and the tranquil stone walls of traditional Hanok, finding peace in their hearts.

Escaping the noise of daily life, I was able to listen to myself, tea, and the sounds of the forest during the 'Grand Moonlight Healing Journey' tea meditation.

This is a healing course I would recommend to those who wish to soothe their weary hearts and regain vitality in life.
