Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation Selected for 'Nampo Traditional House Moonlit Stay' Tourism Product Development
Plans to Operate a Stay-type Tourism Product Connecting Haenam's Traditional Cultural Resources with Wando and Jindo
The Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation announced that it has been selected for the '2026 Nampo Traditional House Moonlit Stay Tourism Product Development Support Project' organized by the Jeollanam-do Tourism Foundation.
This project aims to collaborate with private professional organizations to transform local tourism resources into marketable products. Selected organizations will receive 40 million KRW in project funding.
The foundation plans to explore and document Haenam's traditional cultural resources, including historic houses, hanoks, and temples, and develop a regional stay-type tourism product that connects specialized resources from Wando and Jindo.
Main activities will include: ▲ Surveying and archiving Haenam's traditional cultural resources ▲ Building storytelling around the history, figures, and cultural life of each historic house ▲ Developing regional tourism products linking Haenam and Wando ▲ Registering products on online travel platforms (OTA) and operating paid pilot products ▲ Producing main promotional videos and short-form content.
In particular, by connecting Haenam's historic houses, temples, and tea culture with Wando's marine healing resources and Jindo's Namjonghwa and ink art resources, the foundation aims to establish a regional tourism model that integrates accommodation, experiences, travel, and consumption into a single product. This model will serve as a pilot for the upcoming 'Haewanjin Project.'
A foundation official stated, "This project goes beyond merely introducing local traditional cultural resources; it aims to convert them into stay-type tourism products that can be booked and sold. We will develop this pilot into an execution model for regional tourism cooperation among Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, ensuring its continuous sale and operation even after the project concludes."
