The Jincheon Nong Bridge, located in Gusan-dong, Munbaek-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the oldest natural stone bridge in Korea. It is said to have been constructed by General Im during the early Goryeo period and is renowned for its unique and scientific structure that has withstood strong currents for over a thousand years. I visited on a rainy day and would like to share my experience of this picturesque spot.

The tourist attraction at Jincheon Nong Bridge has well-equipped parking facilities. The second parking lot is convenient for access, and the cost is 4,000 KRW for a day for passenger cars.

Jincheon Nong Bridge has long been a popular domestic travel destination, attracting many tourists from across the country. Recently, the surrounding area has developed into a vibrant and colorful environment that captivates visitors.

Before crossing the stone bridge, visitors encounter a vast ecological park. The lush greenery of the season is beautifully maintained, making it a great place for children to play.

There are also lovely photo zones where visitors can capture their memories on social media. The stepping stones of Jincheon Nong Bridge, along with an artificial waterfall and refreshing natural scenery, create a perfect backdrop for photos.

As you walk further, you can officially cross the Nong Bridge. The unrefined red stones are meticulously stacked like fish scales and shaped to resemble a centipede. Remarkably, no adhesives like lime or cement are used; the structure allows water to flow naturally between the stones.

Designed to withstand the strong currents and flooding during the rainy season, the bridge showcases the wisdom of our ancestors through its scientific design. It has stood the test of time for over a thousand years.

As a local cultural heritage, the bridge is approximately 93.6 meters long and 3.6 meters wide, taking only 2-3 minutes to cross. It’s a unique experience to walk across Korea's most historically significant stone bridge.

After crossing the bridge, a deck road and walking paths lead to attractions like the Sky Bridge and Chorong Path, offering various course options from short to long walks.

The Mir 309 Suspension Bridge is another notable tourist spot in Jincheon, conveniently linked to the Nong Bridge. It's about a 20-minute walk, and it closes at 5:30 PM during the summer, so it's best to arrive by 3 or 4 PM.

I arrived after 5 PM and unfortunately couldn't visit the suspension bridge, but the area is filled with benches and lush tree shade, making it a pleasant spot for a light stroll. I hope to visit the suspension bridge next time.

Before crossing back over the Nong Bridge, I walked towards the nearby artificial waterfall, where a beautiful tree-lined path awaits. Recently, a grand entrance and floral sculptures have been installed, providing lovely photo opportunities.

On my return, I also crossed the stepping stones. Unlike the large Nong Bridge, this smaller stone bridge can sometimes confuse first-time visitors into thinking it is the Nong Bridge, but it is not!

Even on a rainy day, the Jincheon Nong Bridge offers a charming landscape for a light stroll. I enjoyed seeing the vibrant greenery and crossing the historic stone bridge. If you plan to visit Jincheon, I highly recommend stopping by.
