A Romantic Train Journey from Busan: Over 8,000 Visitors Experience Ganghaeyoung

Successful Popup Store to Attract Tourists to Gangjin, Haenam, and Yeongam

From September 18 to 20, Ganghaeyoung operated a popup store called 'Romantic Train Ganghaeyoung' at the Aqua Mall in the basement of Lotte Department Store in Busan. During the event, approximately 8,000 visitors experienced the tourism content of Gangjin, Haenam, and Yeongam, tasting local specialties and exploring the diverse attractions of the three regions.

The popup store was designed with the concept of a virtual train journey departing from Busan's Bujeon Station to Gangjin, Haenam, and Yeongam. Visitors moved through different train cars, experiencing tourism content, participating in events, and tasting and purchasing local specialties, enhancing the immersion and enjoyment of the event.

In the first area, major tourist attractions and unique content from Gangjin, Haenam, and Yeongam were introduced, along with interactive events for visitors. Additionally, travel packages targeting active seniors and park golf tourists were promoted to attract actual visitors.

The second area featured tasting events for six representative local specialties from the three regions. Haenam showcased Haechang Makgeolli and Haenam Sand Chips, Yeongam presented Do-gat House's fig liquor and fig bread, while Gangjin offered Hamel Beer and Oat Oranda. The onsite tasting and sales allowed consumers to directly engage with and respond to local products.

Throughout the three days, the event buzzed with participation from families, Busan citizens, and foreign tourists. Visitors naturally encountered the tourism resources and food of the three regions through the train-themed experience, gaining information about regional travel packages and recognizing Ganghaeyoung as a new travel destination in Namdo.

Kim Kyung-ja, CEO of the Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation, stated, "The 'Romantic Train Ganghaeyoung' popup store was designed to allow visitors to experience a journey from Busan to Gangjin, Haenam, and Yeongam in advance. We will continue to develop tourism products and conduct joint marketing to attract tourists to the Ganghaeyoung area from Bujeon Station in the future."
