If you ask 100 people from Busan,

they all have different favorite spots for the legendary soul food, pork soup!

Finally, the Busan City and Busan Tourism Organization held the

2026 Busan Pork Soup Showcase.

Citizens voted for their favorites, showcasing various restaurants,

with a pop-up event that was unprecedented. Here’s a look at it!

1. Introduction to the 2026 Busan Pork Soup Showcase

The 2026 Busan Pork Soup Showcase kicked off on Friday, October 16,

running for three days.

On the first day, the event was held at BIFC2, 3rd floor, Now Living,

which features both indoor spaces and a large terrace!

Four of the 20 selected pork soup restaurants were present.

Each restaurant offered small portions for visitors to taste various brands :)

Inside, there were 'Rumored Pork Soup' and 'Brother Pork Soup',

while the outdoor terrace featured 'Best Pork Soup by the Water' and 'Our Pork Soup'.

Tables were set up for dining throughout the venue!

The showcase also offered a 'Special 3-Type Platter' of three different pork soups,

available by reservation for tasting.

The price ranged from 5,000 to 6,000 KRW per bowl,

making it easy to experience the flavors of various restaurants!

2. Experience and Events: The Transformation of Soup

In addition to tasting, there were hands-on programs for visitors.

The free pork soup slime-making and color bead coaster-making programs

were so popular that people lined up to participate.

The miniature pork soup keyring-making was a paid program with a 5,000 KRW fee.

The event combined food with hands-on experiences and merchandise,

allowing everyone to enjoy the festival in their own way!

Visitors who brought the 'Pork Soup Week Exchange Voucher' received

a scratch card that guaranteed a prize.

Prizes included clickers, grip talks, open keyrings, and more!

The event offered 2,000 scratch cards on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Talk Show and Merchandise with Chef Kang Leo

On the opening day of the showcase, Chef Kang Leo attended

and held a talk concert, sharing his love and knowledge of Busan pork soup!

The talk covered the origins of pork soup linked to refugee culture,

and the unique broth characteristics of different restaurants.

There were interesting discussions about the differences between cloudy and clear broths,

traditional serving styles, and preferences for separate soup.

Next to the showcase, the 'Pork Soup Market' was also prepared,

offering unique merchandise at reasonable prices.

4. Pork Soup Awards

The Pork Soup Awards began on the terrace main stage,

hosted by actor Han Sang-jin.

Instead of a single winner, the awards recognized the 20 selected businesses,

classifying them into categories like Michelin Guide ratings.

Attendees included Busan's Deputy Mayor Kim Kyung-deok,

and other notable figures.

After a brief congratulatory speech, a short video showcasing

the journey of the Busan Pork Soup Festival was screened.

All award recipients were visibly moved and celebrated each other's achievements.

5. Weekend Program Introduction

Beyond the first day, the exciting programs of the 2026 Busan Pork Soup Festival

will continue on the weekend of October 17 and 18.

The lineup includes various restaurants and events.

We hope to continue promoting the charm of Busan pork soup
