I attended the opening ceremony of the 36th Andong-Yecheon Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Festival at Yecheon Stadium!
From the entrance of the athletes to the congratulatory performances,
I captured the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
As autumn began to set in during September,
the opening ceremony of the 36th Andong-Yecheon Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Festival was held at Yecheon Stadium.
This event is a large-scale sports festival taking place from September 18 to 20 in Andong and Yecheon.
Upon arriving at the opening ceremony, I was surprised to see many more people than I expected,
and the atmosphere was quite lively from the moment I entered the stadium.
The ceremony started at 5 PM on September 18 at Yecheon Stadium,
which has parking space for about 150 cars, making it convenient to reach by car.
Athletes and officials from various regions gathered around the venue,
and seeing participants from different areas come together created a distinctly different vibe than what I usually see at Yecheon Stadium.
Especially seeing the athletes and participants moving together made me feel that
this is truly an event that brings all of Gyeongbuk together.
This festival saw participation from sports enthusiasts across 22 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk,
with around 7,300 athletes and a total of about 10,000 participants.
As a co-hosting event by Andong and Yecheon, it holds even more significance.
The speeches from Governor Lee Cheol-woo and other dignitaries were also delivered.
Being present at the event made it feel larger than just numbers.
The opening ceremony was filled with the athletes' passion,
and what stood out the most were the athletes and participants.
Representing their regions, they cheered each other on and shared conversations,
creating a lively atmosphere even before the competitions began.
It felt more like a festival where sports enthusiasts from various regions gathered to enjoy together,
rather than just a competition for rankings.
The addition of performances by Jang Yoon-jung and Jumi made the atmosphere even more vibrant.
While a sports event might seem rigid,
the music and performances created a festive atmosphere that the audience could enjoy.
After witnessing the opening ceremony, I naturally looked forward to the competitions starting the next day.
From September 19, the competitions officially commenced,
with a total of 23 sports events taking place at various venues in Andong and Yecheon.
In Yecheon, events included kendo, gateball, national martial arts, tennis,
marathon, gymnastics, soccer, table tennis,
taekwondo, and park golf.
Particularly, sports like park golf, soccer, table tennis, taekwondo,
kendo, and gateball are recreational activities enjoyed by people of all ages,
allowing everyone to experience the fun of each sport.
On the final day, September 20, a marathon was also held.
The 36th Andong-Yecheon Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Festival was a meaningful time
where sports enthusiasts from 22 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk came together to support and unite.
The athletes' fiery passion, the enthusiastic cheers from the audience,
and the diverse congratulatory performances filled Yecheon Stadium with a vibrant atmosphere.
I hope the joyful memories and emotions shared during this festival continue to energize Gyeongbuk's sports community.
