Autumn in Gyeongju is a season that brings a sense of travel just by walking around.
If you're strolling between Hwanglidangil and the ancient tombs and looking for a place to take a break to appreciate some art indoors,
the Gyeongju OAR Art Museum is a great option.
Located right next to the Nohseodong Tombs,
you can enjoy contemporary art while gazing at the green tombs through the large glass windows,
which adds a unique touch to the Gyeongju experience.

Closed every Tuesday and on the day of Seollal (Lunar New Year) and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)
Admission Fees: 8,000 KRW for adults / 5,000 KRW for ages 4-18 / 5,000 KRW for seniors over 65
Discounts are available for Gyeongju residents.
Parking: Paid parking available at 262 Geumseong-ro (1 hour free for museum visitors)
On the first floor, there are exhibition spaces and a café.
Seating is arranged in front of the large windows,
making it a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the view of the Nohseodong Tombs.

Currently, the second floor is hosting the first solo exhibition in Korea by Japanese contemporary artist Yukimasa Ida,
titled "Remembering You: The Act of Memory,"
running from August 23, 2026, to March 14, 2027.
Born in 1990 in Tottori, Japan, Yukimasa Ida majored in oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts.
His work expresses memory and the existence of time through painting and sculpture, based on the concept of "ichigo ichie,"
which signifies the fleeting nature of moments and encounters.
This exhibition features around 50 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, and videos,
with new works inspired by Gyeongju.
Particularly memorable was the view of the ancient Silla tombs seen through the large glass windows while appreciating the contemporary artworks.
If you explore the second floor, be sure to check out the rooftop.
It offers a panoramic view of the Nohseodong Tombs, Hwanglidangil, and the city of Gyeongju,
making it a lovely spot to enjoy the cool autumn weather.
The exhibition by Yukimasa Ida continues to the basement level,
where video works can be found, presenting a different atmosphere compared to the naturally lit second floor.
The OAR Art Museum is not just a place to view artworks; it is a space where you can enjoy exhibitions, the tomb landscape, and the café together.
