Nungnae Station, a former railway station in the peaceful Joan-myeon area of Namyangju, offers a serene escape as the cool autumn breeze sets in. It is the perfect spot for those seeking a quiet walking path that evokes a nostalgic atmosphere, making it an ideal place to momentarily step away from busy life and embark on a journey through time.

Opened in 1956 as a simple unmanned station, Nungnae Station served as a reliable transportation hub for locals and travelers alike. It was upgraded to a regular station in 1967 with the construction of a quaint wooden station building. However, after the double-tracking and electrification of the Central Line, train services ceased in December 2008, leading to its closure.

Despite the passage of time, Nungnae Station retains its unique charm. Poetic phrases and illustrations that adorn the station’s walls provide a gentle emotional resonance, allowing visitors to feel the station's history.

The area around the station, featuring a faded sign and rustic wooden benches, serves as a beautiful photo spot that captures the romantic essence of a bygone countryside station. It feels as if the sweet promise of meeting on a snowy day still lingers in the air.

The interior, now a gallery showcasing the station's history, offers an array of nostalgic items, including black-and-white photographs and old stoves that evoke memories of the past.

On one side of the tracks, a transformed train, adorned with lotus flowers symbolizing the Joan-myeon area, attracts attention. Inside this café-style train, warm lighting and colorful tables create a cozy atmosphere.

Although trains no longer run, the spirit of Nungnae Station lives on. The old railway has been reborn as the Namhan River Bicycle Path, preserving the remnants of the railway, including signal lights.

Thanks to its location along the bike path, Nungnae Station serves as a resting spot and certification center for cycling enthusiasts. Renting a bike and enjoying the refreshing riverside breeze will surely be one of the highlights of your autumn trip.

The resting area marked with a sign titled 'The Blues of a Small Station' evokes fond memories of the last train's departure, captivating visitors with its warm ambiance under the red parasols that stir nostalgia.

The rusty tracks, which no longer see trains, have transformed into a beautiful walking path surrounded by lush nature and blue skies. As autumn colors begin to emerge, take a moment to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere at Nungnae Station, where the scent of memories lingers.
