Autumn has arrived at 'Ilsan Lake Park'.
Colorful chrysanthemums and pink muhly, along with various photo zones, have changed the park's scenery a bit.
Since October 1st, the '2026 Goyang Autumn Flower Festival' has been held at the theme square of Ilsan Lake Park.
This year's theme is 'Autumn Palette'.
Walking through the event area, I noticed a variety of autumn colors such as yellow, pink, purple, and orange beautifully displayed together.
The festival runs from October 1 to October 11.
Centered around the theme square, there are autumn gardens, photo zones, a flower market, and various experience programs, making it easy to take a leisurely stroll.
As you enter the theme square, the first thing that catches your eye is, of course, the flowers.
Chrysanthemums in yellow, pink, and purple are arranged in round patterns, interspersed with Goyang city characters and sculptures.
The mixed display of different colors was quite stunning from a distance.
Particularly, the area filled with pink muhly provided a different atmosphere compared to the chrysanthemums.
When the sunlight hit the pink muhly, its color changed slightly as it swayed in the breeze, capturing the attention of citizens stopping to take photos.
Surrounding the area, beautiful cosmos flower fields and various themed photo zones are also available.
This year, the Goyang city character 'Goyang Cat' was frequently seen throughout the festival.
From sculptures located in the middle of flower fields to large Goyang Cat figures adorned with giant petals, each photo zone had its unique atmosphere.
Families with children and adult visitors alike were seen taking photos, enjoying the experience of selecting their favorite spots to capture memories.
Near one corner of the event area, there was a special space set up to leave congratulatory messages for the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Goyang International Flower Exhibition in 2027.
A large pink board was already filled with congratulatory notes and drawings from citizens.
Next to it, there was a photo zone shaped like a large birthday cake made of flowers, allowing visitors to feel the festive atmosphere.
Additionally, there was an exhibition introducing the story of 'Goyang Cat', which has promoted Goyang city for the past 15 years, along with related souvenirs.
Various programs for visitors to participate in were also available, making it an interactive festival rather than just a display of flowers.
The 'Visiting Plant Hospital' by the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center provided consultations related to houseplants, which was a great stop for citizens interested in plant care.
As you explore the festival, you can also take your time at the flower market, where local flower farms and related businesses showcased chrysanthemums, potted plants, and succulents.
After enjoying the flower festival, visitors could select their favorite plants to take home, adding to the fun of the event.
One of the highlights of this year's festival was the 'Floating Flower Bicycle'.
Decorated flower bicycles lined the lakeside dock, allowing citizens to enjoy the autumn scenery of Ilsan Lake Park in a unique way.
After walking around the festival, it was clear that the 2026 Goyang Autumn Flower Festival was more than just a space for flower displays. It offered a variety of experiences from autumn gardens to photo zones and flower markets.
Most impressively, the familiar location of 'Ilsan Lake Park' transformed into a vibrant autumn scene, making it a perfect destination for a leisurely stroll.
