During the weekend, I traveled to Icheon with my family, and we chose Suhundang, a well-known hangover soup restaurant, for lunch.

This place has been famous for its delicious food for a while, and since it fit perfectly into our travel route, we decided to stop by.

Upon visiting, I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying the experience was. It was an excellent choice for family dining, as well as for entertaining guests or business meals.

Moreover, directly across the restaurant, there was a drive-thru Starbucks, allowing us to relax with a cup of coffee afterward.

My parents were particularly pleased with this arrangement, and I noticed there are many large cafes nearby, making it an ideal spot for a date as well.

1. Exterior and Parking – Practical First Impressions

Suhundang features a clean and tidy exterior, with ample parking space in front, making it convenient for travelers with lots of luggage.

Parking can be a concern in downtown Icheon on weekends due to heavy traffic, but here, we could park without any hassle and enter smoothly, allowing us to enjoy our time.

This aspect is especially important when traveling with parents, and I was very satisfied with the convenience.

2. Interior – Space, Structure, and Consideration

Upon entering, we were greeted by a spacious waiting area. Given its popularity as a hangover soup restaurant, it was quite busy on the weekend, and there was a wait.

Fortunately, we were able to reserve a table through Catch Table, so we were seated right away without any waiting time.

Near the entrance, there was information about the use of local ingredients and Icheon rice, which instilled a sense of trust. They also displayed meal kit products for sale.

The interior was spacious, with enough distance between tables to enjoy our meal comfortably without worrying about bumping into neighboring diners.

Families with children were also present, and the availability of high chairs made it a suitable dining place for families.

3. Menu System – Smart and Hygienic

The tables featured tablet menus, allowing us to view photos, descriptions, and prices of each dish at a glance.

The detailed menu descriptions made it easy for anyone to place an order, even in a business setting.

The self-service bar was well organized, and the unlimited ramen refill was particularly impressive.

Additionally, the utensils were individually wrapped, ensuring hygiene, which is a significant advantage these days.

4. Jeongol Set – A Hearty and High-Quality Meal

We ordered the Jeongol set, which is the restaurant's most recommended menu item. This dish includes a rich stew with beef tripe, along with a fresh platter of sundae and garlic pork.

As the stew began to simmer, the rich aroma filled the air, and the combination of ingredients deepened the flavor of the broth.

The addition of beef tripe added a unique richness, and adding ramen made for a hearty and satisfying meal.

The garlic pork, topped with a generous amount of garlic sauce, was tender and flavorful, much to my parents' delight.

The sundae arranged beautifully in the fresh platter was visually appealing and perfect for serving guests.

5. Minari Soup and Dessert – Unique Yet Attractive

Another main dish we ordered was the Minari Sundae Soup, made with plenty of Icheon minari. The crunchy minari on top added a fresh visual appeal.

The fragrant minari brought a different charm to the traditional sundae soup.

At first, I wondered if minari would pair well with sundae soup, but it turned out to enhance the broth's clarity and freshness.

This combination worked well for both a meal and a drinking snack.

To finish, we tried the signature dessert, puff cream, which consists of crispy puffed rice topped with soft ice cream. It was a delightful way to end the meal.

Dining at Suhundang during our family trip to Icheon was truly satisfying, with convenient parking, spacious seating, attentive service, and, most importantly, delicious food.

I would love to visit again on our next trip to Icheon!
