Hello!
Last week, various festivals took place in Seoul, including the famous 'Fireworks Festival' in Yeouido. Goyang City also kicked off its artistic festival 'Nuri' at the end of August.
From September 4th to 5th, the outdoor lawn at KINTEX hosted a vibrant night market festival called 'Kinbam Jisaewugo'.
The festival featured a variety of programs and booths, including play experience zones, sharing markets, flea markets, food trucks, and spectacular performances.
I visited the festival on Friday at 5 PM. To my surprise, it was quite spacious and bustling with visitors.
From 4 PM to 6 PM, there was a community sports event organized with pre-registered teams. The registration fees were fully donated, and all participants received vouchers usable at 'Kinbam'.
This event was a wonderful blend of fun and charity.
The food market was extensive and offered a wide variety of food options.
One notable feature of Goyang City's festival is its commitment to being a trash-free event, promoting the use of reusable containers to significantly reduce plastic waste.
Using personal containers also granted a 10% discount!
The festival showcased a 'Beverage Zone' featuring local brews, including Goyang beer.
I enjoyed a taste of Sokcho beer, which made me feel like I was at the East Sea.
Flea markets and sharing markets were also held on a large scale, supporting local small businesses and women with experience in expanding their economic activities.
10% of the sales proceeds were donated voluntarily.
The 'Kinbam Jisaewugo' festival featured a designated area for picnic mats, ensuring that even those seated far from the stage could enjoy the performances.
Tables were available for free, and by 6 PM, the area was packed, creating a lively atmosphere.
The event officially kicked off at 6 PM with a performance by a traditional music ensemble, marking a grand start to 'Kinbam Jisaewugo'.
The audience, including many children, was visibly excited and enjoying the performances.
There were also engaging shows like the Frisbee show by 'Jungle Bro' and magic performances by Uncle Kid, a favorite magician at the festival.
Musical performances by actors Lee Sung-woo and Lim Kang added to the festive atmosphere.
The Goyang City Night Market Festival 'Kinbam Jisaewugo' was a delightful mix of enjoyment, sharing, and eco-friendliness. I look forward to next year's festival!
