Welcome!

On a lovely day perfect for a stroll, I visited the Goyang City Art Creation Space 'Haeum' located in Ilsan Lake Park.

Location: 595 Hosu-ro, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do (inside Ilsan Lake Park)

Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Closed on Mondays)

Admission Fee: Free

Since it's located within Ilsan Lake Park, you can enjoy both a walk and an exhibition at the same time.

The space was easy to find, located next to the Public Parking Lot No. 3-2 of Ilsan Lake Park.

Parking can often be full, so I recommend using public transportation if possible.

The Goyang City Art Creation Space 'Haeum' means 'to sprout together.' It was remodeled from the former Goyang 600th Anniversary Exhibition Hall and opened in July 2022.

This space serves as both a studio for visual artists and a cultural complex for citizens.

Outside, there is also an 'Eco-Friendly Rest Area' made from discarded resources.

At 'Haeum,' you can find exhibitions by resident artists and art education programs for citizens.

There are participatory activities such as programs for caring for plants and drawing sessions that capture the beauty of the lake.

During my visit, there was an 'Art Tea Time' where resident artists invited citizens to their studios for tea and conversation.

If you have found art to be daunting, these programs provide a light-hearted way to get started.

Recently, the 'Haeum·Saedeul Open Studio' flea market was held on the first floor of the exhibition hall, allowing visitors to purchase products made by art creators.

This space creatively connects art and urban regeneration by repurposing an old building.

The Window Gallery utilized the windows facing outside as an exhibition space. During my visit, there was a program showcasing the right to play for children.

The pieces created from children's perspectives were quite impressive and heartwarming.

The 'Ready~ Action!' summer education program at Haeum allowed children to analyze and create advertisements, fostering a proactive approach to media interpretation.

They wrote scripts, filmed, directed, and even acted, turning their imaginations into reality.

This space was special; as I walked through, I could hear sounds from a 'playground,' evoking a touching atmosphere.

Goyang City's Art Creation Space 'Haeum' supports selected artists to focus solely on their work. The presence of such a space enhances the cultural life of Goyang City.

After visiting 'Haeum,' taking a walk amidst the beautiful scenery of Ilsan Lake Park is truly delightful!

Summary:

✔ Visit along with a stroll in Ilsan Lake Park.

✔ Check the exhibition and program schedule on the website in advance.

✔ Closed on Mondays.

✔ Participation in some programs may require prior registration.

✔ Park at the Public Parking Lot.

Thank you!
