Hello!

These days, the air feels different!

As we reach the end of autumn,

the 'autumn foliage viewing' season is in full swing.

Let me introduce you to the perfect course for enjoying the autumn colors at Bukhansan's 'Wonhyo Peak'.

One of Goyang City's representative attractions!

The autumn foliage at Bukhansan is currently at its peak (Visit date: 10/24).

Note: As of 2026, the autumn foliage period in Bukhansan is:

First colors: 10/23 - Peak: 11/4

The entrance to Bukhansanseong was bustling with visitors enjoying the autumn foliage.

As of 9 AM on the weekend, both 'Parking Lot 1' and 'Parking Lot 2' were full, making parking difficult.

If you're not planning to arrive early in the morning, I highly recommend using public transportation.

There are two ways to ascend 'Wonhyo Peak':

✔ From Bukhandong Historical Museum to Borisa Temple, passing the Baegundae Junction

✔ From Sigumun to Wonhyoam, heading up to Wonhyo Peak.

I recommend hiking the Sigumun course, which connects to the 'Bukhansan Nuri Trail', and descending via the Bukhandong Historical Museum.

The real Wonhyo Peak course begins at the fork leading to Wonhyoam.

I recently enjoyed hiking Bukhansan's autumn foliage with my third-grade son.

The 'Wonhyo Peak' course is suitable for children and beginners, making it an excellent choice for families.

As one might say, it offers great value for a hiking experience!

After passing through 'Seoammun', one of the 13 gates of Bukhansan, the steep ascent begins.

There are many stone steps, so it's advisable to climb at your own pace.

After passing Wonhyoam Temple and the rocky cliffs, you'll be almost at 'Wonhyo Peak'.

Once you see the fortress wall, you'll reach the summit in about 2 minutes, so there's no need to worry.

At the summit, there is no dedicated monument, just a wooden sign indicating the peak.

Standing at the top, you'll be greeted with stunning views of Baegundae, Mangyeongdae, Insubong, and the Uisang Ridge, creating a picturesque backdrop.

Walking down the path to Baegundae Junction after passing the North Gate, the hiking trails are adorned with colorful autumn leaves.

I was busy capturing the vibrant autumn foliage of Bukhansan through my lens.

I highly recommend the round trip to 'Wonhyo Peak', which can be done comfortably in about 3 hours.

Thank you for reading!
