Goyang Special City is
expanding library spaces and services
to allow all citizens to freely enjoy
reading and culture π

Beyond indoor spaces,
enjoying nature at outdoor libraries
and improving barrier-free infrastructure
for vulnerable groups such as the disabled and elderly,
we are accelerating the creation of
'public libraries for everyone'.
π³ Enjoying Nature at Outdoor Libraries

Operating 'Books, Outside'
On May 9th (Saturday),
from 1 PM to 5 PM,
in front of the Book Rest Area at
Kangchon Park,
the Goyang Outdoor Library
will be in operation πβ¨

The outdoor library, which received
great responses from citizens last year,
is scheduled to operate twice a year
in spring and autumn.
Throughout the park, you will find

to comfortably enjoy reading in nature π

Goyang is working on improving
barrier-free devices
to enhance reading accessibility for
vulnerable groups such as the disabled and elderly.

Currently, we are in the process of replacing
98 devices across 18 public libraries
and 10 smart libraries.

π Newly Introduced Barrier-Free Features

β Adjustable screen height for wheelchair users
β Voice guidance for visually impaired and low-vision individuals
β Braille pads
β Help request call buttons
β Support for 6 or more languages
β
Additionally, we will be installing
Braille guidance and call switches
on existing devices
to ensure convenient access for everyone.
