The 7th Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival and Arimia Flower Festival

The 7th Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival
In the spring festival at Changpowon, Geochang, there is a small festival happening.
Today, I would like to introduce the Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival and the Geochang Arimia Flower Festival.
📅 Dates: May 14 (Thu) - 17 (Sun), 2026
⏰ Time: 10 AM - 6 PM
Wild ginseng refers to ginseng cultivated in mountain areas under the Forest Management Act, either with or without artificial facilities like shading. It is a plant of the Araliaceae family that has passed quality inspection according to the laws on the promotion of forestry and mountain villages.
Geochang County is famous for its wild ginseng due to its excellent natural environment and cultivation conditions.
The high altitude and significant temperature differences allow wild ginseng to grow slowly, resulting in firmer texture and better flavor.
Additionally, wild ginseng is grown in an environment closer to nature, making soil and water quality critical, and Geochang's pristine environment meets these requirements.
You can also taste wild ginseng at the festival booth.
There will be a wild ginseng liquor-making experience booth where you can make your own liquor for 10,000 KRW. It would be great to take a bottle home and enjoy it with samgyeopsal on a hot summer day!
Besides the liquor-making experience, on May 16 and 17, at 3 PM on the main stage of the spring festival, there will be an OX quiz and auction for visitors.
During the four-day festival, you can purchase wild ginseng candies and wild ginseng soft ice cream at the sales booths.
There are 11 sales booths for Geochang wild ginseng, where you can see and buy wild ginseng directly cultivated by local farmers.
It is recommended to consume 1-2 roots of wild ginseng per day, and it can be stored in the refrigerator for about 30 days.
If you visit Geochang and purchase some wild ginseng, you can take care of your health too!
The 7th Geochang Arimia Flower Festival
Theme: "Crafting the Moon, Light, and Flowers of the Millennium"
After enjoying the Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival, head to the Arimia Flower Festival.
The festival will be held from May 14 to 17, with the exhibition period extending to May 24.
It would be great to visit even after the spring festival at Changpowon ends.
Inside the Arimia Flower Exhibition Hall, there is a representation of the Millennium Arimdo Garden.
The term "Arim" used by Geochang County refers to the old name or nickname of Geochang, meaning beautiful or fine forest, and is often used in local branding and event names.
The artwork depicting the flute-playing celestial maiden from the Dumari mural tomb captures the overflowing culture of the beautiful town.
The turtle rock at Susungdae is shaped like a turtle covered in moss, with a pine tree on top that adds to the realism.
There is also a piece representing Geochang as an educational city.
Geochang carnations began in 1995 in Gajomyeon and have become a national center for carnation production.
This year, the Arimia Flower Festival features a millennium clock tower as well.
Flowers are sold at affordable prices at the festival, with hydrangeas starting at 3,000 KRW and five celosias for 10,000 KRW.
There are also potting and flower arrangement experiences available for just 2,000 KRW, offering great value.
I hope many people visit Changpowon for the Geochang Wild Ginseng Festival and Arimia Flower Festival.
During the festival, there will be food trucks, so you don’t have to worry about food!
