(The Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation) is launching a promotional campaign for the '2026 RV City Tour' aimed at tourists in the metropolitan area. The foundation announced that it will utilize the postal service for lifestyle information to encourage visitors from Seoul and the surrounding areas to visit Haenam.
This promotion will specifically target approximately 6,770 households in apartments near Yongsan Station. As a major departure point for the Honam Line KTX, Yongsan Station provides convenient access for tourists traveling from Seoul to Mokpo, making it a strategic location for attracting metropolitan tourists to Haenam.
The foundation plans to effectively inform potential tourists interested in camping and travel about Haenam's new travel products by directly delivering promotional materials to selected households using the postal service. This targeted approach aims to attract actual tourist inflow by reaching out to areas and demographics where tourism demand is anticipated, moving beyond simple mass media promotions.
By suggesting a travel route that starts from Yongsan Station, travels to Mokpo via KTX, and then continues to Haenam, the foundation aims to enhance accessibility for metropolitan tourists and promote a new travel style that integrates public transportation with RV camping, moving away from the traditional car-centric travel in Haenam.
The '2026 RV City Tour' allows tourists to explore major attractions in Haenam while enjoying an extended stay. Last year, approximately 1,000 teams and 3,748 tourists participated in the RV city tour. Tourists can freely travel with an RV to various attractions in Haenam, including Daeheungsa Temple and Usuyong Tourist Site, providing a unique travel experience. The foundation plans to continue operating stay-type tourism products using RVs this year to increase visitor stays and expand local consumption in accommodation and dining, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
A representative from the Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation stated, "Through this postal service, we aim to directly inform potential tourists in the metropolitan area about the Haenam RV City Tour and actively promote the convenient travel route from Yongsan Station to Mokpo and onward to Haenam, thereby increasing visits and stays by metropolitan tourists."
