I visited the famous Uidong Village Ginkgo Tree, a popular autumn travel destination in Geochang.
Located in Hak-ri, Geochang-eup, Gyeongsangnam-do, the Uidong Village Ginkgo Tree is a beautiful autumn spot.
In autumn, the ginkgo tree tunnel turns golden, creating a stunning view, making it a favorite spot for photography.
The address is 36 Uidong 1-gil, Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do.
You can park at the entrance of Uidong Village, but please ensure that it does not obstruct the residents.
Upon entering the village, you'll notice strawberry greenhouses and seedlings.
Geochang is known for its five red specialties (5 Hong), which include apples, strawberries, omija (Schisandra), Hanwoo beef, and pork.
I visited on October 30, 2026, and the ginkgo leaves were turning yellow, gradually transforming the entire village into an autumn wonderland.
The ginkgo tree, decades old, spreads its branches wide, creating a magnificent landscape.
Walking in this tranquil rural village, I enjoyed the serene autumn atmosphere.
Even the roof of an old building, now used as a storage, was adorned with yellow ginkgo leaves, adding to the warm autumn vibe.
Despite being an old warehouse roof, it has become a popular photo spot, blending beautifully with the ginkgo leaves.
The ginkgo tree path in Uidong Village is about 100 meters long, making it easy to walk slowly and take photos.
At the end of the village, I saw many professional photographers and enthusiasts capturing the beauty.
According to the locals, the ginkgo trees were planted about 60 years ago.
Since gaining recognition through the first Geochang National Photography Contest in 2011, it has become a prominent autumn photography destination in Gyeongsangnam-do.
The warehouse roof, especially popular as a photo spot, attracts many people during the peak yellowing season.
In 2025, I visited around November 10 and enjoyed great photography opportunities. This year, it seems the leaves are turning a bit earlier.
On my visit on October 30, the leaves were still in the early stages of turning yellow, and I expect early November to be the most beautiful time this year.
Depending on the visit timing, the color of the ginkgo leaves and the fallen leaf scenery can vary, so keep that in mind.
For those looking for autumn travel courses in Geochang, make sure to visit the Uidong Village Ginkgo Tree path, featuring the golden ginkgo tree tunnel and the unique warehouse roof photo spot.
