A Day Enveloped in Art at Paju Book City

Art Apartment Week 2026

Isn't the weather just wonderful these days?

With the autumn breeze gently blowing and the sky so high, it's the perfect season to just escape somewhere.

After a long time, I decided to go out this weekend.

When you think of Paju, you usually picture Heyri Village or the Book City cafes, right?

I was considering just visiting a cafe this time, but I stumbled upon a super hip and fulfilling free art fair called on a blog.

Personally, I love attending exhibitions, and since it was a free reservation event, I couldn't resist and made a reservation right away.

This Art Apartment Week took place from October 7 to 11, lasting just 5 days!

Sadly, the exhibition has ended, but having visited, it was such a delightful experience that I thought, 'Oh, I absolutely want to share this!'

So, I rushed to my blog to share the vivid impressions and some small viewing tips I gathered from the experience.

Setting off to Paju Book City! Location and Admission Information

The exhibition was held on the 1st floor of 'Art Factory NJF' located at 480 Hoedong-gil, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Once you enter Paju Book City, the paths are beautifully arranged, and even the drive there lifts your spirits.

Parking is convenient as you can use the public parking lots around the Book City or designated spaces near the building.

Moreover, it's near the Lotte Premium Outlet in Paju, making it easy to shop before or after visiting the galleries!

Most importantly, the standout feature is the 'free admission'!

These days, attending decent art exhibitions or fairs usually costs around 10,000 to 20,000 won per person.

Yet, here you have high-quality artworks, lectures, and tour programs all available for free reservation, making it an incredible value.

Art at Night? A Romantic 'Night Art Fair'

One of the most unique aspects of was its operating hours.

Typically, galleries close around 5 or 6 PM, but here it was open from 3 PM to 9 PM!

For those who love photography, the golden hour around 5 to 6 PM, when the sunset casts a warm glow, provides a unique emotional backdrop for stunning photos.

In line with the 'Night Art Fair' concept, the special lighting creates a completely different atmosphere when viewing artworks at night, making it romantic and dreamy.

The ambiance is perfect for couples on a date, enhancing their connection.

Enjoying Eye-Catching Artworks and Artist Studio Tours

The gallery on the 1st floor of Art Factory NJF showcased a variety of works, including paintings, sculptures, and art goods.

You can appreciate a much wider range of artists' works than what is visible from outside.

The overall curation was impressive, thanks to the organizing efforts of Gallery Kkia and support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

From vibrant contemporary pieces to avant-garde artworks reinterpreting traditional materials, there was no dull moment.

A must-see program is the 'Paju Book City Artist Open Studio Tour', where you can visit private studios that are usually off-limits to the public.

The shuttle tour includes visits to renowned artists' studios, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for art enthusiasts.

This year's lineup included artists like Ha Jong-hyun, Kim Yoon-shin, and Choi Young-wook, providing a truly spectacular experience.

Being able to witness where artists create and hear their thoughts up close was incredibly refreshing.

For those interested in art, was an unforgettable experience.

If you have the chance to visit the next Art Apartment Week, don't miss it!

Whether for a romantic date with a partner, a cultural experience with kids, or a relaxing solo time, you won't regret it.

It was a delightful autumn day that I will cherish forever.
