Exploring Ulsan Grand Park with Ulsan Carriage

Hello, this is Kim Jong-hee, a reporter for the Ulsan Nuri Blog!
Ulsan Grand Park is a representative urban ecological park in Ulsan and one of the most familiar relaxation spaces for its citizens, often regarded as a source of pride for Ulsan residents. :)
With its wide walking paths, rose garden, zoo, and nature learning center, it attracts numerous visitors year-round, not just from Ulsan but from other regions as well.
The parking lot operates from 9 AM to 9 PM, with a fee of 500 won for the first 30 minutes and 200 won for every additional 10 minutes.
While the park's beautiful nature can be enjoyed in any season, its vastness can make it a bit tiring to explore entirely. :)
However, there’s a more comfortable way to explore the expansive Ulsan Grand Park: the Ulsan Carriage.
The Ulsan Carriage also operates in the Taehwa River National Garden, so you can choose between the two locations.
The Ulsan Carriage experience lasts about 40 minutes, slowly circling the main course of Ulsan Grand Park. Currently, three carriages are in operation: red, green, and brown. I rode the red carriage during my visit.
At first glance, it looked like a classic carriage from a fairy tale, but it turns out it operates on electricity, making it an eco-friendly option.
This aspect was quite impressive; it’s not just a pretty means of transportation but also considers animal welfare and reduces carbon emissions, aligning well with current tourism trends.
Moreover, since it operates on electricity, it produces minimal noise, preserving the natural ambiance of the park.
Ulsan Carriage boarding information: You can board at the East Gate of Ulsan Grand Park. Upon entering, you’ll find a plaza with a ticket booth and boarding area on the right.

The service operates every 20 minutes, so you can choose your preferred time to book. Only card payments are accepted, so please keep that in mind. It’s advisable to reserve in advance on weekends due to high demand. On-site reservations are only available if there are remaining seats, so online booking is recommended.
Ulsan citizens can enjoy the ride for 5,000 won with a 50% discount. Discounts are also available for people with disabilities, veterans, and seniors over 65, while children under 36 months ride for free. Please bring identification or proof for discounts.
The best part of my Ulsan Carriage experience was riding with a guide. Although I thought I knew Ulsan Grand Park well, the explanations made me appreciate it in a new light.
Listening to the history and significance of various areas made me realize how wonderful Ulsan Grand Park truly is!
During the summer, I expected it to be hot, but it was surprisingly pleasant due to the abundant trees providing shade along the carriage route.
The slow speed and stability made it a great option for families with children or seniors, and I saw many families enjoying the ride together.
Ulsan Grand Park is a place every Ulsan citizen should visit at least once. However, taking the Ulsan Carriage allows you to see familiar spaces from a different perspective.
It’s a fantastic way to capture stories and scenery you might miss while walking, especially for family outings or weekend trips with parents. If you want to enjoy Ulsan Grand Park in a special way, consider hopping on this leisurely carriage ride.
