On October 16 and 17, the 'Art Street Ulsan' event took place in the cultural street area of Jung-gu.

This cultural arts festival was held in conjunction with the Lee Jung-seop exhibition at the Ulsan Museum of Art.

True to its name, the festival featured various exhibitions, performances, and markets. Among them, I would like to introduce a group exhibition held at the youth residency , located opposite the municipal museum.

Art Factory Seongnam Alumni Exhibition: Scattered Nearing

Artists who have passed through Art Factory Seongnam gather again, having scattered to their respective places, traversing different times and trajectories of work.

The initials S and N in Scattered Nearing represent Seongnam and the two poles of a magnet. Just as the two opposite poles attract each other, the scattered times and works also move towards each other.

S — Scattered, N — Nearing

Works that have traveled in different directions come closer together here, leading to new relationships and different directions.

Scattered Nearing is an exhibition that observes this movement.

This group exhibition features twelve young artists who have participated in the youth artist residency , which opened in 2024.

Although their periods of residency differ, the exhibition aims to realize the connections formed through their artistic activities in the same space, fostering relationships and possibilities.

With many young artists participating, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of fields and styles.

This collective exhibition presents a variety of works that cross mediums and genres, including painting, drawing, traditional Eastern painting, video, literature, and three-dimensional installations.

Each participating artist showcases their unique techniques and perspectives, creating a harmonious blend of colors and personalities in one exhibition space.

This offers visitors a rich and diverse visual and sensory experience.

Another significant meaning of this exhibition lies in its coexistence with the cultural ecosystem of the local old town. The area around the cultural street in Seongnam-dong, adjacent to the Ulsan Museum of Art, is an important hub for urban regeneration and cultural arts.

This planned exhibition, held in the space where the artists lived and worked, is designed to allow visitors to directly experience the breath shared by the artists as they traversed the alleys of the old town.

Citizens can stroll through the alleys of Seongnam-dong, naturally engaging with art and participating in artistic discourse led by local young artists.

This group exhibition signifies a reunion and a new beginning, where the creative results cultivated by Ulsan's young artists come together, amplifying their energy.

The exhibition will run until the 31st of October. If you wish to witness the present of Ulsan's young artists and support the possibilities they envision for the future, I recommend visiting the exhibition space.

∎ Duration: October 16 (Fri) - October 31 (Sat), 2026

∎ Hours: 09:00 - 18:00 (Closed on Sundays)
