Hello! This is Kim Soon-jeom from Ulsan Nuri.
Autumn has arrived, yet the midday temperatures still feel quite warm for the season.
Today, I walked along the barefoot walking trail at Hwangbangsan in Jung-gu, Ulsan.
As I entered, I spotted the management office of the Hwangbangsan Ecological Camping Site. The more visitors there are, the better the management should be to ensure a comfortable experience.
This ecological camping site is conveniently located near the city center, making it easily accessible.
The restrooms are well-maintained, and tents for car camping are set up nicely.
In the distance, I can see the northern part of Ulsan, with houses that look like they belong to dolls.
This is the playground of the car camping site, where children are happily playing.
At the entrance of the barefoot walking trail, there is a walking stick. Our feet, which are usually protected by shoes, can feel quite unsteady with even slight stimuli. Hence, the presence of the stick is quite helpful.
The benefits of barefoot walking include the pressure point effects from the uneven ground, which can help relieve fatigue and boost immunity.
The location also plays a role; the phytoncides emitted by the forest help stabilize the mind and relieve stress.
However, let's consider the potential downsides. Even with careful management, fallen leaves, pine cones, and small stones can cause injuries to the soles of the feet. Such injuries can significantly affect individuals with diabetes.
On rainy or humid days, one should also be cautious of slipping accidents.
Personally, I do not strongly recommend barefoot walking. I believe it’s better to wear silicone foot covers or socks for safety.
For instance, it’s like saying not to misuse something just because it's beneficial.
If I had more time, I would have liked to visit Ansi Rye.
At the barefoot walking site, there are insect spray dispensers, a fire collection box, and a guide map installed. In summer, the automatic sprayers are very helpful.
If you turn right at the Hwangbangsan Ecological Camping Site, there is a spacious parking lot downhill. There’s no need to drive in circles looking for parking at the entrance of the camping site.
Since you are here for your health, it’s advisable to park downhill and take your time walking up.
