As we celebrate Chuseok, the largest holiday for our nation, various vibrant events blending tradition and culture will be held throughout Jeonbuk this year.
We have gathered all the Chuseok events for returning visitors and local residents in one place!
National Jeonju Museum
'2026 Chuseok Folk Games'
Date: September 24 (Thu) - September 27 (Sun), 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Closed on September 25, Chuseok Day)
Location: Outdoor plaza of the National Jeonju Museum
Nearby attractions: Jeonju Hanok Village, Gyeonggijeon, Korean Sound Culture Center
Programs: Traditional folk games such as Yutnori and Tuho, experience of old household tools, a photo zone with a moon rabbit, and a wish paper hanging activity will be available. Special activities include making Songpyeon on the 24th and a cultural performance by 'Arihyang' and 'Samad' on the 26th at 2:30 PM. A hands-on experience of making Oranda will be available on the 27th (20 participants per session, pre-registration required).
The outdoor plaza of the Jeonju Museum will transform into a playground for families during Chuseok. Enjoy traditional games and performances by percussion groups, and don’t miss the chance to make your own Songpyeon and Oranda!
Gochang Chuseok Abundance Festival
Date: September 24, 2026 (Thu) 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Front yard of the Traditional Arts Experience Village, Gochang
Nearby attractions: Gochang Eupseong (Moyangseong), Pansori Museum
Programs: Experience traditional games like rolling hoops, archery, Yutnori, and Tuho (ongoing, free participation). Making Songpyeon will be available from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (pre-registration and on-site registration, limited to 100 participants, early closure if materials run out).
The front yard of Gochang's Traditional Arts Experience Village will host traditional games for the whole family. Enjoy a variety of games and participate in making colorful Songpyeon!
Seonnam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center 'Together We Chuseok'
Date: September 22, 2026 (Tue) 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Parking lot of Seonnam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center
Target: All local residents
Programs: Making Songpyeon, folk games, beverage booths, and photo zones.
A sharing event for local residents and neighbors will take place at the parking lot of Seonnam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. Enjoy making Songpyeon, traditional games, and more while sharing the festive spirit with family and friends.

'Craft Exploration: Find the Lost Golden Artisan Badge'
Date: September 24-27 (Closed on Chuseok Day)
Location: Jeonju Craft Exhibition Hall, Omokdae Traditional Garden
Free event combining short plays, craft experiences, and performances, with pre-registration and on-site registration available.
'Our Play Stamp Tour'
Date: September 26-27
Location: Hanok Village, Our Playground
Complete missions at traditional game booths to receive gifts, free of charge.
'2026 Hanji Village Chuseok Festival'
Date: September 24, 26
Location: Jeonju Millennium Hanji Center
Experience traditional Hanji making (free), Hanji craft experience (paid).
Join us for cultural and artistic experiences throughout Jeonbuk this Chuseok, from treasure-hunting craft explorations to Hanok Village stamp tours!
