First Look at a Solo Shabu Shabu Spot

Hello!
Shabu shabu lovers, gather around!
I've discovered a great shabu shabu restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, Busan, where you can enjoy shabu shabu alone.
It's none other than Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch!
How does it look? Just by seeing the photos, I feel like rushing over to eat shabu shabu again!
Location and Accessibility
Location: 21, Yongso-ro 8beon-gil, Nam-gu, Busan, 2nd Floor
Operating Hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Last Order at 8:00 PM)
Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch is just a 2-minute walk from Exit 5 of Kyungsung University-Pukyong National University Station.
Even during weekdays, there were quite a few visitors.
Shall we explore the shabu shabu restaurant, Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch?
Solo Dining Concept and Seating
First of all, for solo diners, you can enjoy shabu shabu at a reasonable price of 13,900 won.
They offer three types of broth: clear broth, spicy hangover broth, and mala hot pot broth. You can choose according to your preference!
Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch is well-known as a great spot for solo dining with five individual seats available, and I often visited alone!
In addition to solo seating, there are many tables for two and four, all equipped with individual pots for shabu shabu.
If you have different preferences from your dining companions or if it’s awkward to share a pot with colleagues, having individual pots at Shabuol makes for a hygienic and comfortable meal.
Especially, the solo seats are designed to face the window, allowing for a peaceful dining experience without facing many customers.
The solo dining seats also come with a phone holder, which seems to be a thoughtful touch by the owner!
The four-person seats are available in various styles, including sofa and chair seating, which is also a plus.
Unlimited Salad Bar and Ingredients
Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch offers a wide selection of over ten types of vegetables, which you can enjoy infinitely through the self-service salad bar.
You can choose vegetables for cooking in the pot or for wrapping in rice paper for fresh spring rolls.
I highly recommend adding crunchy pickled radish to your spring rolls. The umami flavor is incredible!
If you’re in the mood for something other than vegetables, they have tofu, rice cakes, fish cakes, glass noodles, knife-cut noodles, and ramen available.
Sauce Bar and Customization
There’s also a customizable sauce bar. What sauce do you think goes best with spring rolls?
If you’re unsure about which sauce to choose, I recommend the sriracha mayo sauce from Shabuol—it’s slightly spicy and perfectly creamy!
For those who dislike the ordinary, why not create your own sauce using Shabuol's patented chili sauce and soy sauce?
Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch even provides a special sauce recipe!
It’s great that you don’t have to worry about mixing different ingredients on the same plate with friends who have different tastes.
The rice paper is cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to wrap with chopsticks!
Enjoying the Meal
My happiest moments are when I dip my spring rolls filled with mushrooms, crunchy vegetables, and meat into sauce!
With so many ingredients to prepare, the unlimited salad bar for just over 10,000 won is definitely worth a visit.
They also have plenty of refillable broth options, both spicy and mild, at the self-service bar.
It was great to enjoy shabu shabu without worrying about running out of broth!
Finishing with Carbs and Dessert
After thoroughly enjoying shabu shabu, it’s customary to finish with some carbohydrates!
They offer knife-cut noodles, glass noodles, and ramen, but I personally believe rice is the best!
I gathered ingredients for porridge, including rice, kimchi, seaweed flakes, furikake, and sesame oil. It may look small, but I packed it in considering the rice will expand!
We had different preferences for dessert. I made a light and digestible porridge using the clear broth, while my friend enjoyed hearty knife-cut noodles with the spicy hangover broth.
Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch even offers mango and watermelon slushies!
If you love cold desserts, this is definitely a must-try!
Final Recommendation
I’ll be back for another solo meal here! I highly recommend Shabuol Kyungsung University Branch for anyone looking for a great shabu shabu spot in Kyungsung!
