This review is my personal experience of visiting 'Chuncheon Choga Mungtong Stew'.

Chuncheon Dining Spot

Choga Mungtong Stew

Recommended Kimchi Stew Place in Chuncheon

Today, I want to introduce a restaurant located in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon!

It is 'Chuncheon Choga Mungtong Stew - Toegye Branch'.

Originally, the main branch of Choga Mungtong Stew is located in Sinbuk-eup.

I heard they opened a new branch in Toegye-dong, so I quickly visited.

Since the original location is quite far and often has long wait times, I am thrilled to have a branch nearby!

Let’s dive into my experience at Choga Mungtong Stew!

The restaurant opened on September 29, and the first floor serves Mungtong Stew, while the second floor specializes in grilled pork belly and potato stew.

Parking is available in the dedicated lot in front of the restaurant, but it can be challenging to find a spot due to high demand.

We ended up parking in a nearby alley.

The operating hours are from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with a break time from 4 PM to 5 PM, and they are closed every Monday.

We arrived at 11:30 AM on a weekday, and the restaurant was almost full, but we were lucky with no wait.

However, shortly after we were seated, a line started forming, so I recommend avoiding peak lunch hours!

The interior of the restaurant is clean and modern, reflecting its recent opening.

The spacing between tables is generous, allowing for a comfortable dining experience.

Ordering is done via a tablet at the table, and rice is provided with each stew ordered.

We ordered two servings of Mungtong Stew without hesitation.

The side dishes served were neat and included my favorite stir-fried fish cakes, which paired perfectly with the stew.

Finally, the highly anticipated Mungtong Stew arrived, rich and inviting!

The staff will cut the kimchi and meat for you, and the generous portions were impressive.

The stew was flavorful and satisfying, especially when served with rice and kimchi.

We couldn’t resist adding ramen noodles to the stew, which was easy to order at any time during the meal.

After adding the noodles, we enjoyed every last bite.

Now, we don’t have to travel far to enjoy Mungtong Stew; we can simply visit the Toegye branch!

I had a wonderful meal today!

The end.
