The 'Goyang City Samseong Library' is a public library located in Deokyang-gu, Goyang City, at 73 Deoksucheon 1-ro (Samsong-dong).

It is one of the representative public libraries in Goyang City.

Opened on December 23, 2014, the library has a total floor area of 3,836.142 square meters, operating across four floors from basement level 1 to the 3rd floor.

There is a bus stop right in front, making it more convenient for visitors.

Location and Surroundings

Samseong Library is situated in Samsong-dong, surrounded by apartments such as Goyang Samsong Star Class, Samsong I-Park 2nd Complex, Goyang Middle School, and Goyang City Samseong Childcare Center.

Crossing the street in front of the library leads to Songhyeon Park, making it a great location to enjoy both the park and the library.

Parking fees apply, but registration allows for one hour of free use. While there is an underground parking lot, it is not very large, so it is recommended to use public transportation or walk on weekends.

The lobby is spacious and comfortable.

Facility Features

Samseong Library is specialized in floriculture and agriculture, featuring a dedicated resource corner and cultural programs, distinguishing it from other libraries.

It offers various spaces, including a general materials room, children's materials room, reading rooms, and relaxation areas, providing a cozy reading environment while supporting diverse cultural activities.

Recently, the library underwent remodeling, making the interior cleaner and more pleasant, and the children's materials room has been improved for a cozier atmosphere.

Programs and Usage Status

Samseong Library utilizes the 3rd-floor cultural classroom to offer various reading culture programs, including summer vacation special classes for children and elementary students, programs for infants and elementary school students with a Bookstart manager, and humanities courses for adults.

Goyang City is expanding outdoor library operations and distributing barrier-free devices to enhance library services for all, including those with knowledge information vulnerabilities.

Samseong Library operates within this policy direction.

Affiliation System and Usage Guide

Samseong Library operates within the Goyang City Library system, which includes libraries in Deokyang-gu (Hwajeong Library, Haengsin Library, Sinwon Library, Samseong Library, and Nohbit Library).

It provides services such as access to library materials, electronic library loans, inter-library loans, weekend movie screenings, cultural events, digital materials rooms, periodical rooms, and laptop rooms.

Many visitors were present during my visit, seeking refuge from the scorching heat and studying in the library.

The library has a convenient self-service system for borrowing and returning books.

There is a separate children's library, making it easy for kids to enjoy the space.

It was nice to see mothers reading books to their children, and the system of removing shoes before entering is very welcoming. 'Wish Books' can also be requested directly.

Samseong Library has a large collection of books and is accessible to everyone. During my visit, there was a lecture on 'Humanities on the Road: The Renaissance of Joseon from Sukjong to Jeongjo.'

There were quite a few participants as well.

On the upper floors, there is a rooftop garden where visitors can relax while studying or reading, making it a perfect spot to take a break!

Samseong Library has been serving as a public library specializing in floriculture and agriculture for over 10 years, acting as a daily reading space and cultural program hub for local residents.
