Exploring the Heartwarming Space of Baengma Hwasarang

How is your heart doing?
We checked in at 'Baengma Hwasarang'.
From June 29 to July 17, a three-week heart care project was held in collaboration with books and experts.
Additionally, various programs are being conducted.
In the 1980s, Baengma Station was a romantic destination for youth traveling from Sinchon Station by the Gyeongui Line.
For middle-aged individuals, it evokes memories of their glorious youth.
Surrounding the railway, pubs and cafes like Hwasarang and the Rotten Apple were densely packed, creating a cultural space filled with poetry, music, and acoustic guitar, a sacred place for dating.
With the changing times, many of these establishments have disappeared, and the Gyeongui Line train has evolved.
However, 'Baengma Hwasarang' has been preserved, continuing the romance of the 80s.
Baengma Hwasarang, a space of nostalgia and memories, is a heart care project in collaboration with books and experts!
Located in Ilsan New Town, 'Hwasarang' was maintained after moving from Baengma Station to Pungdong Anigol.
In 2020, it was taken over by Goyang City, becoming a space for citizens.
It has transformed into a 'multi-cultural arts space' that holds the history of the 1980s to the early 2000s.
The Goyang City Lifelong Learning Center operates various cultural lecture programs, with exhibitions held every two weeks.
Every last Saturday of the month, a small stage performance is also presented.
Baengma Hwasarang features a fireplace nestled between red bricks, adorned with hundreds of LP records.
Exhibitions and performances can be checked in advance on the 'Baengma Hwasarang' website.
Upon entering the 'cafe' past the railway, gentle ballads greet you.
Baengma Hwasarang, which started at Baengma Station and moved to Pungdong Anigol, preserves the essence of the 1980s.
With its rustic charm of red bricks and wooden tables, along with retro lighting and a piano, it offers a nostalgic atmosphere.
Baengma Hwasarang is a place where memories and romance intertwine, hosting a heart care project with books and experts!
Warm coffee awaits as you flip through the curated books, reflecting on your own heart.
Though short, the time spent reflecting on oneself was meaningful.
Thank you for visiting Baengma Hwasarang!
