Dongsang, a gem of Wanju
Nestled between the vast Daeya Reservoir and Dongsang Reservoir, Dongsang-myeon is known for its pristine environment and is a renowned producer of sweet dried persimmons.
At this time of year, it is also a perfect place to immerse oneself in the feast of greenery.
Walking through Dongsang, one can feel the changing seasons and escape from the busy daily routine, finding true 'rest' and 'pauses' in life.
First, you can find "comfort in green."
As you drive along the winding road past the Daeya Reservoir and head towards Dongsang Reservoir, you will encounter breathtaking scenery.
Simply gazing at the green waters and gentle waves brings peace to the heart.
Recently, a romantic resting area parking lot has been established, making it a great spot to enjoy the greenery.
With pleasant weather, sitting here with a book and coffee offers a moment of healing.
As the area develops shade, it will soon become an ideal spot for cool relaxation.
Second, it is a place for digital detox.
Located in a deep valley, Dongsang-myeon is a quiet tourist destination and has a serene village where one can rest comfortably.
To enjoy some leisure time with books, I spent a day at Bookstay Dongsang, located in Dongsang-myeon.
This place features the "Agricultural Corporation Community Space Sujak," with a guesthouse nearby where you can enjoy a bookstay in nature.
Surrounded by mountains, it's a perfect spot for digital detox, allowing you to relax while reading amidst nature.
The village of Dongsang, where Bookstay is located, is encircled by tall mountains, creating a cozy and secure atmosphere, as if you are nestled in a large pot.
The strong winds are blocked by the mountain ridges, giving it a hidden fortress feel, known only to those who seek it.
Using the accommodation as a base, you can enjoy leisurely strolls around the village and experience landscapes you've never seen before.

Third, experience "complete relaxation."
While driving through Dongsang-myeon is enjoyable, there are many spots in the village where you can take in the grand scenery.
As you head from Dongsang Village towards Suwan Village, a small church in the mountain village catches your eye.
With the mountains in the background, the white church building and the Wanju village bus create a perfect pause where nature and humanity meet.
Unlike the city, the beauty of slowness is felt here.
As you stroll along the path leading to the Dongsang Office, you will reach Sinsabong Village.
This shared space offers different shades of comfort depending on the time spent here.
The vibrant green path sparkles in the midday sun, while at dusk, it transforms into a golden cozy atmosphere.
The Wanju village bus continues to run here.
Perhaps the combination of Wanju's lively atmosphere and the tranquil mountain scenery creates a vibrant yet calming experience.
Just like the small bus stop at the end of the road, our hearts take a moment to rest here.
