Hello!

I recently visited the 'Yujin Folk Museum' located in Wonheung-dong, Goyang-si.

The museum is currently hosting a special exhibition and experience event titled <KongKong Village / Welcome to the Milky Way Cafe> in 2026.

Here, I was able to witness the wisdom of our ancestors embedded in traditional food culture and the artistic beauty of traditional mother-of-pearl crafts all in one place, making it a meaningful experience!

Especially through various hands-on activities at the venue, I captured the vibrant atmosphere where visitors and children could engage together.

Yujin Folk Museum Information:

✅ Address: 78-11, Goyang-daero 1670beon-gil, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do

✅ Operating Hours: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Closed every Monday)

✅ Admission: Free (Some experience programs may have additional fees)

✅ Parking: There is a spacious free parking area in front of the museum for easy access.

The first exhibition I covered was <KongKong Village, The Time of Waiting>.

This exhibition is part of the "2026 Gyeonggi-do Museum and Art Museum Support Project" presented by Goyang-si and the Yujin Folk Museum.

It showcases the effort and time required to create the sauces that we encounter daily, divided into five detailed corners for intuitive understanding.

1. The Village Where Beans Grow: It introduces the nutritional value of beans, known as 'meat from the field', and their various types and characteristics.

2. The Village of Waiting: This section covers the sacred fermentation process that deepens the flavor of sauces.

3. The Time to Create Flavor: It introduces the tools used in making sauces, including miniatures of traditional pots and mortars to help children understand.

4. The Secrets of the Fermentation Jar: It highlights the scientific principles behind our traditional jars.

5. The Path to the Dining Table: It shows how our sauces are utilized in everyday meals through representative dishes.

Additionally, there is a special experience called 'Make a Wish', where visitors can write their wishes on traditional socks displayed in the exhibition.

The second exhibition, <The Heritage of Light - Welcome to the Milky Way Cafe>, is part of the "2026 K-Museum Regional Touring Exhibition and Tour Support Project" and runs from August 20 to October 30.

This exhibition allows visitors to rediscover the beauty of mother-of-pearl crafts. It offers a hands-on experience of making a mother-of-pearl hand mirror, allowing participants to appreciate the artistic value of our traditional crafts.

In conclusion, the two special exhibitions at the Yujin Folk Museum provide warm memories for adults and diverse experiences for children, helping them naturally learn about our traditional arts and the wisdom of our ancestors. I highly recommend visiting the Yujin Folk Museum for a meaningful experience this autumn.

Thank you.
