As the cool autumn breeze blows,
the leaves of the lake park are beautifully changing colors.
In celebration of the '2026 Goyang Special City Citizen's Day',
a meaningful health event was held!
On October 3rd (Saturday),
the 'Singing Fountain' square at Ilsan Lake Park was filled with excitement.
This event was all about walking with family in the lake park!
The square was filled with enthusiastic citizens eager to enjoy the event,
along with exciting performances on stage.
This event, hosted by 'Goyang Special City' and organized by the Goyang Walking Federation,
was designed to allow citizens to walk together,
experience the romance of autumn, and foster unity.
Participants received their number tags and water bottles at the venue.
As I carefully attached my number tag to my clothing,
I felt a rush of excitement knowing I was part of the walking event.
A large map showing the 5km walking course was displayed,
allowing everyone to easily understand the route.
Starting from the Singing Fountain, the course led past the cactus exhibition hall,
the waterfall restroom, and along the rose garden.
Before the official start of the walk,
everyone participated in stretching and warm-up exercises led by an instructor.
It was wonderful to see citizens of all ages following along together,
boosting their energy with lively movements.
After the warm-up, participants gathered in front of the blue 'Start' arch,
ready to begin their journey on the 5km course.
As we walked past the cactus exhibition hall towards the lake bridge,
the trails were beautifully adorned with autumn colors.
Walking through the tunnel of yellow and red leaves,
I felt a sense of healing just from the act of walking.
Participants, with their number tags attached, walked in sync,
sharing conversations and capturing the beauty of autumn in photos.
Before we knew it, we completed the 5km course and returned to the starting point at the Singing Fountain.
A warm cheer greeted us as we crossed the finish line,
filling us with a sense of accomplishment.
At the finish line booth, participants were welcomed with charming completion badges
featuring Goyang's mascot, 'Goyang Cat'.
In addition to the completion badges, family participants received lovely bear plushies,
bringing smiles of pride and happiness to the children's faces.
This 'Walking with Family' event on the 2026 Goyang Special City Citizen's Day
was a precious time to share warm family bonds
against the backdrop of the beautiful scenery of Ilsan Lake Park.
Feeling the pleasant autumn breeze, we took care of our health
and created unforgettable memories.
