Autumn Adventures in Changwon and Beyond

I don't know why, but I've been obsessively focused on autumn leaves this November.
I wanted to take some amazing photos of a beautiful yellow ginkgo tree with my camera, but I was anxious that I wouldn't be able to post any fall photos on Instagram, especially since it seemed like everyone else was enjoying autumn in Changwon.
There are palm trees and pink muhly grass in front of Changwon Hospital, so I took a photo because they looked pretty.
This is my favorite hotteok place in Dongmasan Market. Honestly, it's just too cute.
We went to the restaurant where I had my first meal out in Masan with my teacher, Jun-ki! It was really delicious. The food was plentiful and tasty, making it a great value. Highly recommended.
And then there was this cocktail bar I visited a few times with my friends, Jun-ki and Jae-hyung. The atmosphere was nice, and there were a variety of cocktails to choose from.
After that, I headed back to Seoul immediately because I had to attend the fall academic conference. I had debated whether to go the previous year, but it felt too far. A year later, it still seemed far away, and driving there felt like a journey over mountains and rivers, bringing me to tears.
Meeting Se-yoon at the conference was a delight! Since we both started our training, we have had so few opportunities to meet, so we chatted a bit.
Our talented friend, Ming-gu, proudly participated in the individual competition at the conference. I warned him that if I showed up there, he might end up on the Instagram of an influencer with thousands of followers, and it was hilarious when he was recognized as Kim Se-yoon with a mosaic effect.
After lunch with my peers, we took a stroll to Hongje Waterfall for coffee. The weather was nice and cool, perfect for a walk. Honestly, it’s rare to meet my colleagues since they are all busy, so it was exciting to gather for coffee.
My recent bright face made me a bit sad. The following day, after lunch, I unexpectedly ran into a friend at a cafe.
During my on-call duty at the conference, I had a great time with my colleagues and took a group photo together. It was nice to gather and take a lively picture.
I live because of you all.
We had a dinner sponsored by our professor, and I was genuinely impressed by the restaurant selection. It wasn’t just about drinking; the Western food and wine were amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, and I shed tears of joy as a country bumpkin from Changwon.
We enjoyed a second round with the residents. Talking with the senior doctors was surprisingly fun.
On my way back to Changwon, I celebrated our youngest teacher's birthday, worked, and went into surgery. Another week in Changwon passed.
Then it was back to Seoul, but not just any Seoul—this time it was Songdo!
I traveled over mountains and rivers again to attend critical care and trauma training in Songdo. Every time I come to Incheon, it feels like a different country. Why doesn’t Incheon declare independence?
After two months in the country, I found myself in critical care training, questioning everything.
We visited an outlet for some fun and Christmas decorations, even though it was still early for the holidays.
Finally, I have my vacation! I started my break by visiting Dr. Se-rin’s hospital for some treatments. Honestly, I don’t care much about skincare, but I was thrilled to catch up with her.
We had a deep discussion about our futures while applying numbing cream.
We had a delicious meal at a well-known beef noodle restaurant and enjoyed a cozy gathering with friends.
At the end of my trip, I made sure to grab some famous salt bread before heading to Gimhae Airport. It was worth the wait in the cold.
After resting, I returned to the hospital and noticed that autumn had arrived a bit late in Gyeongnam.
I met a friend who was serving in the military nearby, and we had a great meal together at a famous restaurant.
In the end, despite my busy schedule, I felt grateful for the delicious food and the wonderful memories made.
