In September, with the gentle autumn breeze, I visited the last day of Goyang City's representative cultural and artistic festival, the '2026 Goyang Lake Art Festival'.
The festival atmosphere was lively, with banners and signs welcoming visitors at every corner of the park.
This year, under the slogan 'Art, Play in the Streets!', the festival was held from September 18th to 20th at Ilsan Lake Park, featuring a variety of events over three days.
From captivating street performances to magic shows and large puppet theaters, artists delivered thrilling performances that captivated the audience.
Celebrating its 15th edition this year, the festival featured over 100 street performances, making it a rich experience for all.
Walking through the expansive Ilsan Lake Park, I enjoyed choosing performances that matched my interests.
The festival showcased excellent domestic street art in the 'GSAF Choice' section, along with captivating international street art and art experiences, all in one place, making it a fulfilling event.
As I enjoyed the diverse performances throughout the day, I realized it was already afternoon. The main stage lawn was filled with citizens eagerly awaiting the evening events.
The highlight of the 2026 Goyang Lake Art Festival was the closing performance by the renowned South Korean singer Shin Seung-hun.
As his sweet live performance began under the dazzling lights of the night sky, the lawn at the lake park filled with enthusiastic cheers and emotions from the audience.
With large screens installed throughout the park, everyone could clearly experience Shin Seung-hun's performance, regardless of their location.
Listening to his timeless songs resonating softly by the lakeside, I fully embraced the romance of the autumn night.
After Shin Seung-hun's touching closing performance, the festival's highlight began, with a fireworks show and drone display lighting up the night sky.
As colorful fireworks burst into the sky with a bang, all the spectators erupted in awe.
The spectacular fireworks intensified the heat of the autumn night.
Especially remarkable was the performance of numerous drones filling the sky in sync with the music, truly a breathtaking sight.
From twinkling ballerinas to the dynamic battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, it felt like a 3D fairy tale unfolded in the night sky, keeping our eyes glued to the spectacle.
The 2026 Goyang Lake Art Festival, celebrating its 15th anniversary, was more enriching than ever!
From the diverse street art performances during the day to the fantastical fireworks and drone show at night, it was a meaningful event that gifted citizens an unforgettable romantic and emotional autumn night.
