Support for Travel in Rural Areas
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is promoting the 'Local Love Vacation Support' project, which reimburses half of the travel expenses in decreasing rural populations with local love gift certificates. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization and 16 local governments, and participant applications have been open since April.

Starting from April 13,
Gochang-gun, Geochang-gun, Wando-gun
will begin pre-applications.
The 'Half-Price Travel' initiative aims to revitalize tourism in areas with declining rural populations and is being implemented for the first time this year. Participants can receive a reimbursement of 50% of their travel expenses in the form of mobile local love gift certificates, encouraging repeat visits to the region. The maximum reimbursement amount is ✔️100,000 KRW per individual and ✔️200,000 KRW for groups of two or more.
Seven areas, including Namhae-gun, which was the first to launch the program, as well as Miryang-si, Hadong-gun, Hapcheon-gun, Goheung-gun, Yeongam-gun, and Yeonggwang-gun, have seen early closures for April applications, while Jecheon-si has fully closed its applications for this year. The other eight areas, excluding Jecheon-si, are preparing to reopen applications for May and June.
From April 13, Gochang-gun, Geochang-gun, and Wando-gun will also start accepting pre-applications. Following this, Haenam-gun (April 30), Pyeongchang-gun (May 1), and Hoengseong-gun (May 20) are scheduled to launch the program. However, Gangjin-gun is currently conducting the program with local government funds and will transition to national funding from June.

Therefore, those interested in applying should check the relevant information on the respective regional websites.
