Finally, the big holiday Chuseok has arrived!
Many of you might be spending time with your families during this festive season.
Here, I will introduce a one-day travel itinerary to Gijang, perfect for utilizing Chuseok and the weekend!

1. Sowonsa Temple
Located in Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, Sowonsa Temple is not only famous among locals in Busan but has also gained popularity on social media, attracting many tourists!
Although not far from the city, it is situated in the mountains, offering great accessibility and beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons.
Upon entering Sowonsa, you will find a dedicated parking area for your convenience.
As you proceed through the entrance, you will encounter the Twelve Zodiac Guardians and the Four Heavenly Kings.
Then, you will see the Mireuksan Buddha, surrounded by beautiful scenery that creates a soothing ambiance with its gentle bell sounds when the wind blows.
There is also a small shop selling temple goods and souvenirs.
The temple is known for its unique reclining Buddha, which is 7 meters tall and 25 meters long, making it a sight to behold.
It is said that rubbing the soles of the Buddha's feet while making a wish is a local tradition, so be sure to try it during your visit!
A wooden deck path is also available for a pleasant stroll, leading to a beautiful pond.
If you visit Sowonsa, make sure to take this walking route!

2. Park Tae-joon Memorial Hall
Located next to Imrang Beach, the Park Tae-joon Memorial Hall is a striking exhibition space.
Park Tae-joon was the first chairman of Pohang Iron and Steel Company and is known as a key figure in Korea's economic development.
The memorial hall serves as a cultural space to reflect on his life and philosophy.
Currently, only the garden and library are open to the public.
The entrance to the garden feels like stepping into a secret space!
Inside, you will find a long dark corridor leading to a bright area filled with beautiful landscaping.
The outdoor space allows you to feel the refreshing breeze and witness the changing seasons.

3. Deokmi Gijang Location
The final stop on the Gijang itinerary is the must-visit ocean view café.
Located in a quiet fishing village, Deokmi Gijang is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee while listening to the sound of waves.
Though not a large café, it offers a cozy atmosphere to enjoy the expansive sea view.
Sipping coffee while gazing at the ocean is a wonderful way to conclude your trip!
