Exploring the Suksuk Toy Library in Jincheon
On the second floor of the Jincheon Complex Community Center, located across from the Jincheon Arts Center, is the Suksuk Toy Library, operated by the Jincheon County Comprehensive Childcare Support Center. This is the second toy library opened in Jincheon County, following the Pangpang Toy Library in the Chungbuk Innovation City. I visited the Suksuk Toy Library to learn about how to use it and to see the interior.

The Suksuk Toy Library is located inside the Jincheon Complex Community Center on the second floor. It operates from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM, with toy loans available until 4:30 PM on Saturdays.
Upon entering the Suksuk Toy Library, I was greeted by a colorful array of toys. There was a wide variety, from familiar toys to new ones I had never seen before! It brought back fond memories of my children's adorable childhood days.
The Suksuk Toy Library is available to Jincheon residents with children under the age of 5, as well as employees working in Jincheon County or residing in the Chungbuk Innovation City. To use the library, one must register as a member online under the guardian's name and then visit the library. Jincheon residents need to present the guardian's ID and a copy of their resident registration. After verification, the annual membership fee of 10,000 KRW can be paid on-site to complete the registration. Members can borrow up to 2 toys and 6 books at a time, with a total of 8 items allowed. The borrowing period is 3 weeks, providing ample time to play and return for new items.
As a parent, the cost of toys can be burdensome. Not only is the purchase price high, but storing and maintaining unused toys can also be a hassle. Using the toy library alleviates the burden of parenting while offering children a variety of toy experiences. The Suksuk Toy Library has educational toys related to numbers and science, as well as ride-on toys and role-play toys, catering to different ages and interests.
There is a separate reading area for young children within the library, designed for parents and children to sit comfortably and choose books together. You can borrow up to 6 regular books and 3 sound books at a time.
You can select toys directly at the library or search and reserve them in advance through the website. Popular toys require prior reservation online. Be cautious, as overdue items may incur fines.
Next to the Suksuk Toy Library, there is a nursing room for infants, equipped with a changing table and a nursing area, making it convenient for visitors with young children.
