Exploring the National Chungnam Meteorological Science Museum

Hello!
I am the 9th District Reporter of the Domi Reporter.
Last week, I visited a cultural space that engages the senses with meteorological science.
That place is the 'National Chungnam Meteorological Science Museum.'
Located in the Chungnam Naepo New Town, this museum features various specialized experiences in meteorological science integrated with the latest technology.
It aims to enhance understanding of meteorological science and provides a professional space for all ages to learn and enjoy.
The museum is equipped with indoor exhibition areas on the first and second floors, as well as outdoor exhibition spaces.
It was a place filled with laughter from young children and groups visiting.
Visitors can view and experience historical artifacts related to meteorological observation and outdoor weather observation equipment linked to the museum's content.
The outdoor exhibition area allows for convenient viewing using bicycles provided by the museum.
When I visited, many groups of young children arrived by vans and tour buses.
It was heartening to know that a public facility where children can safely enjoy field trips exists in Chungnam Naepo New Town.
With various contents such as meteorological workshops and exhibition explanations, the museum is an excellent field trip location for young children.
According to the staff at the information desk, many groups from both within and outside Chungnam visit the museum for field trips.
On the second floor, there is a corner about people and climate, featuring the sea temperature exploration vessel, Madu Nuri.
It was fascinating to see children starting their exploration and enjoying an earthquake escape game.
In the climate environment corner of the Korean Peninsula, there are exhibits on typhoons, wind and terrain, and a fog forest.
The children's curiosity was evident as they entered the fog forest to experience the concept and principles of fog.
The fog forest is one of the popular spots for children to learn about fog.
The West Coast Weather Center on the second floor allows visitors to experience the process of producing weather forecasts.
It is reminiscent of the weather forecasts seen on television, with touch screens for quizzes and experiences that kept the children cheering and laughing.
The Rain Garden and Dragon Breath are experiential spaces on the first floor of the museum.
Visitors can experience four levels of rain, from light to heavy, and on that day, children wore umbrellas while experiencing the rain to understand its concepts and principles.
The Rain Garden operates at 30-minute intervals and is the most popular experience among group visits.
June is the month of national defense and remembrance, featuring Memorial Day.
The National Chungnam Meteorological Science Museum prepared activities for young children to learn about memorial events and create windmills as a gesture of gratitude.
For elementary school students, there will be an event to create hibiscus hand mirrors titled 'Hidden Stories of Hibiscus.'
The National Chungnam Meteorological Science Museum is a unique cultural space for meteorological science.
Located at 15 Cheomdan San-dan-ro, Hongbuk-eup, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.
Operating hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM; closed on Mondays.
Come and explore!
