[Travel in Chungbuk] A Night by the Valley of Mount Sobaek: Latest Information on Dari-an Tourist Area Camping Ground in 2026

Danyang is home to many famous tourist attractions. While some places like Dodam Sambong, Gosu Cave, and Mancheonha Skywalk are well-known, there are also spots where you can stay and enjoy nature at a slower pace.

Dari-an Tourist Area is one of those spots.

You can camp next to a valley flowing down from Mount Sobaek, walk along forest paths to reach Dari-an Waterfall, and observe geological features of Danyang.

I visited the Dari-an Tourist Area in early September 2026. While some visitors were camping, construction was underway to improve the area.

Notably, the popular Pang Pang Ground for children was closed at that time. In this article, I will focus on the currently available camping facilities, the valley, and the waterfall, as well as the ongoing construction and the future developments of the Dari-an Tourist Area.

Dari-an Tourist Area is located at 12, Sobaeksan Hiking Road, Danyang-eup, Danyang-gun, Chungbuk.

Situated about 7 km from downtown Danyang, it offers a very different atmosphere from urban tourist spots. As you enter the area, the number of trees increases, and the valley water flows alongside.

Dari-an Tourist Area is not just a place to visit for one purpose; it is a space where you can enjoy camping, walking by the valley, hiking Mount Sobaek, and relaxing.

In summer and early autumn, the valley is particularly refreshing.

The dense trees provide shade, making the area around the valley relatively cool even at midday. You can feel the atmosphere of Dari-an Tourist Area just by taking a leisurely walk and enjoying the valley scenery.

The Dari-an Tourist Area Camping Ground operates a total of 78 camping decks in 2026.

The camping area is divided into four zones: A, B, C, and D. Zone A has 18 decks, Zone B has 21, Zone C has 17, and Zone D has 22, making a total of 78 camping decks.

Zones A, B, and C offer 4×6 m decks for 35,000 KRW per night, while Zone D has 5×7 m decks for 40,000 KRW per night.

For those who prefer a different style of accommodation, there are also four dome houses and 26 shelters available, with the dome house rental fee being 60,000 KRW per day.

Reservations are required in advance, and it is advisable to check the integrated reservation system of Danyang Tourism Corporation for the latest availability before booking.

The camping area has basic facilities such as public restrooms, cooking areas, and showers. There are three public restrooms, two cooking areas, and five washing areas available.

The shower facilities provide hot water, although there may be limitations during peak usage times.

Walking further into the valley leads you to the beautiful Dari-an Waterfall, where the scenery changes dramatically.

The ongoing construction is part of a revitalization project aimed at transforming the area into a new tourism hub that combines accommodation with wellness programs.

Dari-an Tourist Area is a place where you can spend a night by the valley and observe the beauty of nature and geology.

In 2026, it remains a unique destination with its valley, camping area, and waterfall, offering plenty of charm.
