I recently visited Hanjin Port, located in Songak-eup, Dangjin City.
It was a beautiful day, showcasing the stunning early autumn scenery.
Hanjin Port is situated in the northeast of Dangjin City and has historical significance dating back to the Baekje era, serving as a major ferry point for merchants and envoys traveling to and from the Tang Dynasty.
The port features a spacious parking area, making it convenient for visitors, and there is no parking fee.
Rich in history, Hanjin Port is also referenced in the literary work "Sangnok-su" by Sim Hun.
The area is dotted with restaurants and cafes serving freshly caught seafood, as well as accommodations like pensions, making it a great spot for an overnight stay.
The Hanjin Port fish market offers a variety of seafood caught from the nearby waters.
You can enjoy sashimi at your lodging or home, and purchase clams and various types of fish.
The market also sells side dishes made from seafood, including marinated crab, and pre-sliced sashimi.
Open from 7 AM to 7 PM, the market is closed on the first and third Mondays of each month.
Hanjin Port is famous for its clams and hosts a clam festival.
In recent years, the market has been modernized, moving from umbrellas to a new building that enhances the shopping experience.
Until October 18, the market offers a special refund event for purchases made on the first and third weekends of each month.
Visitors can take a leisurely walk along the deck paths that stretch over the water, enjoying the scenic views.
The deck leads to an observation area where you can catch stunning sunrises, making it a favorite spot for photographers.
As you stroll along the deck, you can witness boats entering Dangjin Port and fishermen at work.
The path features interesting phrases and sculptures that reflect the character of Dangjin, adding a fun element to your walk.
After exploring the area, I enjoyed a meal at a nearby kalguksu restaurant, famous for its clam dishes.
