Join us for an opportunity to learn about future energy
and explore new careers and paths.
The Shinan Youth Counseling and Welfare Center
is recruiting participants for the
2026 Shinan Renewable Energy School.
The theme of this year's school is
'Connecting the Winds and Sunshine of Shinan to the Future!'
From understanding the principles of renewable energy to AI and robotics,
and engaging in creative maker activities and cultural experiences!
This program goes beyond classroom learning.
You will observe, experience, and think critically
to explore the possibilities of the future.
First, let's meet the winds of Shinan
September 19, at the offshore wind power site in Jaeun-do.
Learn how renewable energy is generated,
from the basic principles to the development process.
Discover how the winds and sunshine of Shinan
can be utilized as future energy.
Second, experience future energy
October 17, at the Jeonbuk Buan Renewable Energy Theme Park.
Explore various renewable energy sources like solar and wind,
and participate in activities focused on climate change and future energy.
This will be a time to reflect on our future
while understanding the relationship between energy and the environment.
Third, imagine the future with AI
October 24, at Gwangju National University of Education.
This time, you will meet AI, robotics, and makers!
Experience AI and robotics firsthand,
explore rapidly changing future industries,
and engage in creative problem-solving activities using generative AI.
Fourth, experience the future and culture in Jeju
November 6-7, a two-day trip to Jeju Island.
Explore renewable energy promotion centers and related facilities,
and experience the nature and culture of Jeju.
This will be a chance to see how the energy industry is connected
to the region’s nature and culture,
broadening your perspective on the future.
Who can participate?
Recruitment period: September 1 - September 16, 2026
Target audience: Middle school first-year to high school second-year students in Shinan
Number of participants: Approximately 20
Program duration: September 19 - November 7, 2026, a total of 4 sessions
