As the weather gets pleasantly cool, it's the perfect season to escape somewhere new. Today, I want to introduce you to a special place I visited: the 'Nongdari Storyum,' located within the Nongdari Cultural Park, one of the must-visit spots in Jincheon.
The first thing that caught my eye upon arrival was the exterior of the building. Its neat gray-striped facade gives a clean and modern impression. In front of the building, there's a cute 3D sign announcing the 'Nongdari Cultural Park,' making it easy to find even for first-time visitors. With a gentle breeze, I felt it was the perfect autumn getaway right from the entrance.
As I approached the entrance, I paused at the beautiful scenery before me. A tunnel adorned with abundant pink flowers cascaded down from above, creating a stunning visual. Stepping inside, I was greeted by vibrant and lovely flowers that instantly lifted my mood. This place is perfect for capturing memorable photos with friends or family. If you visit, consider wearing a neat outfit or a pretty dress to take cheerful pictures.
Inside, a neat sign hangs on a red brick wall, introducing the space. The name 'Storyum' is a meaningful blend of 'story' and 'rium' (space). It operates from 9 AM to 6 PM during the summer months (March to October) and until 5 PM in winter (November to February), closing on Mondays and holidays, so it's good to check these details when planning your Jincheon trip.
As I passed the sign and made my way to the lobby, I was welcomed by adorable mini characters saying, "Shall we discover the thousand-year mystery of Nongdari?" The nearby neon sculpture of 'Mir 309' also makes for a great photo spot, attracting the attention of children and making it an ideal family-friendly autumn destination.
Inside the main exhibition hall, there were many intriguing displays. One of the highlights was a transparent glass tube showcasing a detailed miniature of the bridge's structure. It was fascinating to observe how each stone was meticulously stacked. Next to it, a screen displayed cute animated illustrations of green mountains and rivers, while another large screen showcased beautiful footage of people crossing the stone bridge during cherry blossom season. It visually conveyed the wisdom of our ancestors, making this place both educational and enjoyable.
After exploring the exhibition, I discovered a charming area for experiences and souvenirs. A stamp zone on a white tiled table allowed visitors to create their own postcards with red stamps, offering a delightful way to personalize a memento. There was also a shelf displaying various goods, including postcards featuring seasonal landscapes, plush character dolls, neat navy tumblers, magnets, and beautifully patterned scarves.
