Located in Galkye-ri, Bukgang-myeon, Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Galkye Forest is one of the hottest autumn destinations right now.

🌳 A Natural Sanctuary Rich in History
Galkye Forest is not just a pretty place; it is a special space steeped in deep history and significance.
Designated as the 2nd Natural Protected Area of Geochang in 1982, it is proud to be recognized as the 3rd scenic spot among the 13 attractions of Bukgang-myeon. It features a lush habitat of 200-300 year old pine trees, willow trees, and zelkova trees, covering an oval area of 100m wide and 300m long.
The name originates from 'Imjeong (林停)', meaning the garden of a sage, and it was known for the filial piety of a historic figure, Im Hun, during the Joseon Dynasty. It is also referred to as 'Gaseonrim', 'Chinae Forest', and 'Cheonghakrim' after local schools.
