SeMA Seoul Mediacity Biennale: Pre-Program 'Poran'

SeMA Seoul Mediacity Biennale
Pre-Program 'Poran' of the 14th Seoul Mediacity Biennale
Introduction to the Reading Performance — 'Hyangyeon' ⨉ 'Ggokdu Story'
Reading is the act of breathing life into text by reading it aloud. Depending on the speaker and the conditions, it generates different sensations each time, revealing complex layers that cannot be reduced to a single meaning. Literary texts unfold as constructive entities where meaning emerges in the process of reading and interpretation, rather than as fixed outcomes.
The dialogue in 'Hyangyeon' explores the essence of love, while 'Ggokdu Story' portrays the companionship of life and death through a symbolic being that guides the departed on their journey.
The reading performances by actors Kwon Joo-young and Park Se-in will take place every Friday and Sunday during the exhibition period.
Kwon Joo-young is a member of the Shinsegye Theater Company, showcasing intense energy in plays such as 'Blue Country,' 'Brave New World,' and 'Tank;0-24.' She has also appeared in the drama 'Pachinko' and the film 'Gunche.'
Park Se-in has delicately portrayed characters in various works including '99% Genius Diary,' 'Silence and Noise,' 'Dobiwala,' 'Cookie, Ann, and Cream,' and 'Youngji.' She has appeared in dramas such as 'Yumi's Cells 3' and 'The Price of Confession.' Since 2023, she has been running a play-focused bookstore called 'Inscript' with Kwon Joo-young, sharing the process of bringing text to life on stage with readers.
