Located in Jongno, Seoul, the Children's Museum has revamped its existing space to open a new 'Children's Craft Playground' concept that combines appreciation, expression, and play.

Unlike traditional kids' cafés centered around play equipment, this 'museum-style kids café' is designed to naturally experience the creativity of crafts through the processes of appreciating and expressing artworks.

The reopening is set for February 20th (Friday), with reservations beginning at 3 PM on February 13th (Friday) on the museum's website.

What’s special about the 3rd floor 'IDLE Studio'?

The fully renovated 3rd floor 'IDLE Studio' is an appreciation space.

It features an installation artwork designed by artist Jo So-hee, called '…where…', creating a unique net playground.

This space has expanded from being a 'viewing area' for craft artworks to a 'experiential and immersive space.'

Children can crawl, hang, lean, and lie on the artworks, making the act of appreciating them part of their experience.

Through the harmony of colors and shadows, curved shapes, and the texture of cords, the space aims to provide a sensory exploration of crafts.

How will the special exhibitions be conducted?

Until August, the special exhibition will feature installation works, including Lee Eun-sook's 'The Bear That Connects Hearts.'

This exhibition, themed 'Relationships and Connections', uses fluorescent threads to express light and darkness, color and shadow, creating a fantastic atmosphere under blacklight.

Additionally, a 'Designer Note' workshop space will be available on the 3rd floor, allowing for ongoing participation linked to special exhibitions and museum collections.

What has changed in the 2nd floor 'Craft Village'?

Since its opening in 2021, the 2nd floor 'Craft Village' has maintained its original structure while enhancing some playful exhibits for toddlers and younger children.

Activities include a pottery workshop titled 'What Will We Put in the Bowl?' and a metal workshop with tool storage displays.

Activity cards and worksheets will also be provided to deepen the engagement with the space.
